My wife and I visited several historical churches and cathedrals during our visit to NYC, and although this church is small, it is by far the most memorable of all the places we visited. The staff member who greeted us was amazing (wish I could remember his name!), and took the time to personally show us around and tell us about the church's history as well as offer us interesting facts about the current state of the building and congregation. If you are curious try visiting Judson first Sunday of any month at 11 am for Agape - picnic tables, wine and cheese, hymns and show tunes interrupted by a very lively and moving piece by either Donna Schaper the senior minister or Micah the newly ordinated gay minister or an interesting ringer. It is a place well known to harbor creative performance, and the space lends itself very well to such events.
