New York University Islamic Center — Local services in New York

I tried to visit on a Saturday afternoon in May 2023 and was treated very rudely by a security guard. He asked to see ID which goes against the idea of a mosque which should be a welcoming place for all (even non Muslims). We need to make our mosques more welcoming especially for our Muslim brothers and sisters The building doesn’t even say the words islam or Islamic center. It says Catholic Center at NYU. Try to visit it in May 2022. Going there with subway and find the way to the park using digital map. It is not difficult to find the park. But I cannot find the building nor the signage. Only find there is Catholic Center at NYU Building.

Apparently the Islamic Center is in the 4th floor if this building. And in accordance from the security officer, I need to contact the administrator first and provide the proof of vaccination before they give me the approval to enter the building. Hope I knew this info before, so I can visit it. As I will move to another city tomorrow, hope I could visit...
