OSKOSK
I tried to visit on a Saturday afternoon in May 2023 and was treated very rudely by a security guard. He asked to see ID which goes against the idea of a mosque which should be a welcoming place for all (even non Muslims). We need to make our mosques more welcoming especially for our Muslim brothers and sisters The building doesn’t even say the words islam or Islamic center. It says Catholic Center at NYU. Why does one religion get its name on the building and not the other? It is my first time visiting NYC and I had very high expectations from this place but very disappointed I thought Muslims would be more welcome in this international city especially in their prayer areas

The Islamic Center at NYU has been one of my favorite places to attend Jummah prayers. There’s always a strong sense of community, and the khutbahs are insightful and meaningful. I especially enjoy staying after to listen to Imam Khalid, as his words always leave me with something to reflect on. I heard they’ve moved to a new location on 6th Avenue, and I’m looking forward to checking it out soon inshallah. It’s great to see the center growing and continuing to serve the community in such an impactful way.

I was in the neighborhood around dhuhr time. I launched a search, and this place showed up. Upon arrival, there was a guard who checked my credentials before letting up. The Masdjid is super clean and spacious and offers an amazing vue of the Washington square parking.

ICNYU is truly an outstanding community center that goes above and beyond in serving the Muslim community in New York. Their work, especially during Ramadan, is nothing short of admirable. From hosting daily iftar gatherings to organizing meaningful prayers and fundraising for noble causes, they create a welcoming space for everyone. The sense of community they foster is inspiring, bringing people together in a way that strengthens faith and unity. Their dedication to supporting those in need and providing a spiritual home for so many is truly commendable. May they continue to grow and benefit the community for...

Try to visit it in May 2022. Going there with subway and find the way to the park using digital map. It is not difficult to find the park. But I cannot find the building nor the signage. Only find there is Catholic Center at NYU Building.

Apparently the Islamic Center is in the 4th floor if this building. And in accordance from the security officer, I need to contact the administrator first and provide the proof of vaccination before they give me the approval to enter the building. Hope I knew this info before, so I can visit it. As I will move to another city tomorrow, hope I could visit...
