Key Food Supermarkets — Attraction in New York

The store is excellent. So neat, so nice. The only thing that makes it not 5+ stars is the bathroom. It is disgusting!!!! You have to go around the deli(not bad) but then you have to go downstairs and on the door is a sign that says "rodent control devices downstairs" EW!!!! When you go down the stairs there is marker on the wall telling you which way the bathroom was. The bathroom was beyond disgusting!! Grosser than a truck stop bathroom. The pipes were all exposed and rusted. One of the toilet's didn't even have a top(not the toliet seat). There was graffiti all over all of the walls. There wasn't even any toilet paper! I didn't even wash my hands in the bathroom. I used a wipe from my purse. When I was going down there, it felt like was in the beginning of a horror movie. The kind where 'And she was never seen from again.' My advice? If you're going for a short shopping trip, just to pick up a few things, this is a good store. If you are going to get your week's groceries, make sure you use the bathroom before you get there. Leaving your stuff in the store and going to the Dunkin' Donuts or somewhere else in that plaza is better than going into that bathroom. Trust me. The actual store part is so different as compared to the bathroom, if I hadn't seen it, I wouldn't have believed that it was...

Okay supermarket with average to higher than average prices. It's clean and decently stocked. Occasionally, there's horrible service.

One time, I brought my item to the cashier to pay. Upon noticing me, she immediately turned away to begin socializing with her colleague, completely ignoring me. There was no one else on the line. After my initial surprise, I walked away to the self checkout but it wasn't available. I returned to that cashier and she did the exact same thing!

Because I was in a rush, I couldn't make a complaint then until the following week. A manager wasn't available but a staff member said to return the following day for him. I did, but he still wasn't available. She said she would notify him of the incident. I suggested they look at their video footage of the incident but they said they didn't have any.

This incident happened a few months ago. The cashier who refused to provide me service is still working there. Needless to say, I avoid her cashier...

This particular store of the chain loves to play games with the posted paper sale prices as they routinely don't honor the prices they post!! On more than a few occasions I've had to walk out as I was NOT paying the full price when they pull the switcheroo when I say that wasn't the price posted when I took the item from the aisle when they overcharge me while checking out. I used to be a regular weekly customer as my Mom used to shop here and I'm buying food for her however holiday farms on Springfield has everything offered at this key food and for significantly LESS and doesn't play games with their customers. I suggest you shop there as it's only 2 blocks away and where I'm driving too now to buy grapes for her for 2.99 not the 3.99 listed here after the fact as they did to me today at this crummy Key food. Major thumbs down for this...
