This section is underrated. Most go to the botanicals for cherry blossoms or roses... etc. But if you go in season, the magnolias will blow you away. We went in mid-April trying to glimpse the cherry blossoms, but instead were greeted by a wonderful bloom of magnolias. So many people swarmed the other areas, but if you go to this plaza, next to the lab admin building, you will find a great picture spot. If the wind is in your favor you can even catch some blooms falling down in...

A small square that is full of magnificent flowering magnolia trees, with a quaint bronze sundial in the middle. The peak flowering season of these trees is in early spring, before the cherry blossoms have reached peak bloom. #DaffodilHill at the @BrooklynBotanic Garden is one of NYC’s low-key can’t-miss floral displays—and it’s at peak bloom right now. It’s always a delight to round the bend and see the swath of bright yellow flowers swaying in the cool spring breeze. Per BBG.org: “Several varieties are planted, most notably Narcissus ‘Spellbinder,’ which displays bright yellow and white blooms as well as Narcissus ‘King Alfred’, the largest of all the trumpet daffodils.” Just up the hill is Magnolia Plaza, which is now just starting to bloom, and of course in a couple weeks, the garden’s showstopping cherry blossoms will be out. Check bbg.org for the roster of plants in bloom—it’s a great feature of their website. It’s time for spring blossoms. #ItsTimeForNYC 📹: @akuban for @nycgo 🌱🌸🌳 #NYCspring #Brooklyn #BrooklynBotanicGarden #NYCgoBBG #NYCgoBrooklyn #GetLocalInBrookkyn #GetLocalNYC #NYC #NewYorkCity
