Taste of the City Lounge — Restaurant in New York

Came today on a Monday terrible time. I came in and waited a while for someone to greet but no problem. Then I was sat at a broken table in the back. I was alone and honestly wasn’t paid attention to at all I asked to be moved only to be sat at another wobbly table so I just accepted my fate and tried to order. I gave my drink order and app basically immediately on the first time she came to my table after seating me. I didn’t know what I wanted for an entree so I asked my waitress can she Come back. She literally never came back. The bartender brought me my drink quickly. It was good. However that’s the last thing I tasted there . I waited 20 min for someone to come back to my table . It wasn’t like things were bustling in there there were 4 people at the bar and 3 other tables. I tried to get their attention and everyone ignored me my waitress , bartender who was in front of me, the other waitress who just sat at the bar so long i thought she was a customer until as I was leaving she actually served a table and literally got up and went to the bar twice and on the 3rd time I said I asked can you get my waitress or can I get a to go for my drink because I’m tired of waiting to just put in an entree and I still haven’t gotten my app after 25 min. My waitress came as I was speaking and I went up to her to ask her can I order since she was literally going to walk away as she saw me at the bar for the second time. She told me she wasn’t my waitress any more and that they changed her table and pointed to another waitress the waitress looked at me and said nothing I stood there and she said someone will be at my table soon and said she put in my calamari I ordered fritters I corrected her she said sorry yes that . I waited another 5 minutes, again I’m floored because the entire wait staff except my original waitress is at the bar . I wait 10 minutes and just put on my coat and hand over my drink to the bartender and let him know I’m leaving . He apologizes and asked me what I ordered what did I want and offered to comp my drink . I agree just for my waitress to come back and tell me there were no fritters after at this point 40 min I ask can I just get the lamb chops and lobster Mac and the calamari she comes back after another 10 min and let’s me know there’s no lamb chops or calamari , they both apologize and then I ask well what do y’all have they listed off more stuff they don’t have 🙂she mentioned I’d be waiting a while and that I already had been waiting a long time so we should try and find something. I walked out because I’ll be waiting a while?? Over all a disaster the music was too loud, Smokey and literally no food , maybe just a drink spot there is hookah but if you’re not hanging out and just want a decent dinner and some drinks avoid I went to an old favorite for dinner instead and had a great dinner and got alll my food in the time it took for me to walk out and they were...

Visited this establishment on a Tuesday evening around 7pm and to my surprise there was no crowd. I’ve been paying attention to the social media page and I’m guessing I might of just came on the wrong night. There was approximately 5 other customers. I sat myself and wasn’t greeted by anyone. After maybe 20 minutes, getting settled and using the restroom I decided to go to the bar and ask if I can get a waitress to my table. The bartender said she would send someone over. Idk how much time passed but it felt like forever when I got back up and decided to just order at the bar. After I placed my order with the bartender my waitress(who should have been greeted me) came out and asked if I’d like to place my order. I told her what I ordered and asked her to follow up with the bartender and kitchen. At this point now I’m paying attention to time. 35 minutes later I got up and walked towards the kitchen because I’m seeing multiple ppl that don’t seem to work there going back n forth through the curtain! I saw my waitress socializing with her team… I asked about my food and she said it wasn’t ready it should be done within 5 minutes. When my food finally arrived to my table (fries, codfish fritters, and a side of pasta) the food was cold and stiff as if it was sitting out for a very long time. Which definitely made sense with the waitress lagging off and having no regards to the basically empty restaurant. I wouldn’t like to see how the service is on a day that it is actually packed. Most unprofessional restaurant I have ever experience. We went to celebrate my sister birthday 12/1/23 we booked in advance for a party of 9 in my memo I stated birthday celebration, most restaurants would send a text confirmation on the day of, we didn’t even get that. Upon arrival we were greeted by this unprofessional concierge, our table was not even reserved we bought in a customized cheese cake from Juniors, we gave it to the concierge, and I asked for it to be stored in the refrigerator. When it was time to cut the cake our waitress who was very nice and attentive, we ask if she could bring out the cake, she went to the back no one had no clue about a cake, so we told her we gave it to the concierge, which she ask her and she acted like she had no clue what we were talking about. Our witness now went to the back came out and called me to the back, saying we had a problem when they showed me the cake it was like dog food apparently the concierge instead of storing the cheesecake in a proper manner, with her stink attitude she threw our cake. I got so upset and I took the cake. I called the restaurant that Saturday night to make a complaint about what happened the manager on duty said he would investigate and he would call me back the next day which was Sunday and if not give him by Monday. I have yet to get a call back, I even call on Thursday to speak to the owner and he was there but I was told to call after 3 pm and he would be there, but the phone just rang out.
