NEVER trust their claimed "discount price." They have the tendency to put on display whatever discount figure they feel will attract customers and not actually apply it when you check out. I had to return to this store to get refund for their alleged discounted price on three different occasions, each time with a very unpleasant confrontation with this middle-aged woman who called herself an Assistant Store Manager. She didn't seem to understand the basics of customer service and seriously needs to monitor her demeanor when she interacts with customers. On one occasion, she mentioned to me in a very condescending manner that the sales period was over and the price is back to normal so she was doing me a HUGE FAVOR by giving me the refund. Umm.. how was I supposed to know that when you don't take down the discount sign on display?? Their business model seems to revolve around lying about their prices, and give refund, without a single word of apology, IF AND ONLY IF the customer catches it and directly confronts them about it. Similar thing happened to me once at Whole Foods and their store manager personally apologized to me and did not charge me for the item with price tag error.
Also, everything here is very much overpriced as many people mentioned in the review. Honestly, I would never shop here if it wasn't for the pure convenience factor due to its propinquity to my residence, and when I do shop here I make sure I scrutinize all the discounted prices they claim and reconcile every single item shown on the screen with the price tag when...
Read more((Very Pricy)). Even on products that have a long shelf life. If you shop here you need to go somewhere else. This is a Poor nieghborhood and the prices are as if it were a rich nieghborhood. Not many of the employees speak english or have a clear english accent.. food is waaaayy expensive many times doubling the price of the orginal price meant for it. Vegan food is twice as much here than in food bizzare, Literally. They try to be nice but they've put an over priced supermarket in a low income nieghborhood. Im not even sure some of these employees have been in America very long. Seems like they only hire their kind of people. In a neighborhood full of diversity their are 95% dominicans working in this supermarket. Many of whom do not speak english and just know some of the names of the products. I also notice lots of people saying they dont hire black Americans but i think thats racist because they forgot to mention that they dont hire any other type of American but Dominicans and thats if they are American. But no puertoricans..no whites..no asians..ni didnt see any mexicans either. So this store is just straight racist. And i still have to go here for my grandma until she gets out of the nursing home up the block in a couple days. Very pricey and...
Read moreIf this is the supermarket on E. Kingsbridge Road, and if any managers or powers that be from this place is listening, or read any of the comments to this post, I hope that they take heed and realize that customer service is everything, especially if you are trying to expand your business and financial horizons. The young male cashier in this place was very rude, unprofessional and I had the overwhelming feeling that he doesn't like his job and the miserable attitude he displayed suggested that he rather be elsewhere. I went there to shop using my EBT card, and he was bitching about paying for a shopping bag. By NYS law, if you shop with an EBT card, the shopping bags are free of charge. But, l guess that he wanted to play bossman that day. On top of that, if you sign up to be a cashier, part of that job is you to bag the customer's groceries. Now, that makes two businesses on Kingsbridge Road, that are supermarkets, that l will be boycotting for unprofessional, unacceptable customer service. On top of everything, I'm the only comment in this post that got a pathetic and weak excuse from the powers that be at that place. How pathetic that they side with...
