China House — Restaurant in New York

My family has been going here for years and years, fairly often too. Our friends always want to order from here when they visit. The people who run it are lovely, and the food is consistently delicious, with great portion sizes and lunch specials. Today, being an airhead, I forgot to order my usual S&S sauce side with my dish. Realized this once I got home and, already soaked to the bone, did not want to trek out again in the rain. I was going to resort to those little packets you get from BK, which are nice with nuggets but not so much a substitute for rice dishes. When I opened my food bag I realized that they had included S&S in my order. Happiness tenfold - TENFOLD I tell you. Back to the review. I've been to a lot of Chinese restaurants and takeout places since moving to NY, and we always -always -always end up going back here. Then we spend a minute or so discussing why we even bother going elsewhere, not that others aren't good but it's normally one or two dishes that we love, but then the others pale in comparison to China House. I strongly recommend the Yang Chow, S&S Chicken and Pork ribs (spare or regular). Also their cheese wontons cannot be beat and are a threat to my diet. I love you,...

Fries are always dry cause they pre cook them and leave them out so stopped ordering them. Bugs always flying around today I walked right in to a bug dying on the counter twitching and all!!! Prices always changing some days they charge some days they don’t! and I used to go and order the same thing everytime. Never again. As well as with everything with Covid you would think they wash their had everytime when going to handle food or at least use gloves they will deny u service if you ask them to not touch your food with their bare hands!...

Ordered food for pickup. It’s was so so disgusting. I ordered chicken & broccoli with white rice. I received soggy rice and instead of the regular garlic sauce they drenched the chicken which was super white n gross, in oil. The only thing close to bring fresh was the maybe the broccoli Im never getting food from here again.

Don’t go here unless you want to have diarrhea and waste your hard...
