I had booked this room to go to for my birthday because I love Jacuzzis and have been to this location once before with my partner unfortunately, this time it was not as much fun. We booked the room pacifically for the Jacuzzi, which the price is also have gone up to $200 during the week And unfortunately, our Jacuzzi was not able to be used. when we noticed a lot of black stuff floating around the Jacuzzi tub we re-cleaned it and we also call maintenance my husband even asked him for more cleaning products as we re-clean the entire tub ) ..who came out (nice guy) who ran the water to see. after HOURS of dealing with this issue. WE noticed it wasn’t the water that was the problem it was when you turned the JETS that all of these multiple black stuff, mole mildew, etc kept coming out And for our health sake, (especially me being a female) we chose not to use it and due to the amount of time that we used with maintenance and on about this issue, we didn’t even bother going to another room due to the fact it was already very late. So We just chose not to go again. My husband wanted some of his money back, but we were in such a rush to leave the next morning. We didn’t even get chance to speak to front desk , but it was very unfortunate. The motel meeds to step up their cleaning habits. This was disgusting and could easily get me,my partner or ANYONE sick especially a female who body parts are open. He has proof of the multiple black stuff that was floating on the bubble is coming out of the jets, it was disgusting.(I even posted photos to show) Mind you I have been here twice before I never had a problem. FYI, just check your Jacuzzi as soon as you get to the room so you won’t have to waste time and maybe be able to get a...
Read moreWe are so thankful that we found the Pelham Garden Motel. Every two weeks we fly in to the Bronx for treatment at the Eastchester Cancer Center. Before discovering the Pelham Garden Motel, we stayed at a national chain hotel that was more expensive--it also required reservations and a taxi ride twice a day. Now we just stroll over to the Pelham Garden Motel. It is in a very nice neighborhood less than a mile from the cancer center. It offers the additional convenience of a diner right next door that is open 24/7 and a grocery store within walking distance. We like it that Pelham Garden does not take reservations because it is large enough that they always have a room for us; in addition, we often have last minute medical emergencies and not having to cancel or change reservations gives us one less thing to worry about. The hotel managers have always been very personable and accommodating. If you are high maintenance, then this may not be the place for you. It is clean and comfortable, but the shower mats are paper and the amenities are minimalistic...to say the least. For example, the red dresser drawers are 'faux' and you only get two thin towels. If you are like us and can do without red neon lighting and mirrored ceilings, all you have to do is let the desk know when you check in. However, if you are more adventurous, we understand they even have a room with a round bed that they rent out for around $80 for three hours--the Pelham Garden Motel just may be the honeymoon destination...
