I came here today with my BMW because my TPMS told me my right rear tire was low due to a nail. I normally would never bring a premium car to a place like pep boys but I did it anyway cause how can you get a nail removal wrong? Anyways, the guy removes the nail, patches it up, and after he’s brought the car down from the bay, Alex Crawford (the employee that was working on my car) ended up halfway driving over a tire that was left around the work area as he was trying to bring the car to me. I approached him and asked him to immediately put the car back on the bay to have it lifted so I can inspect for any damages. He knew he did something wrong because he went inside and told Vlad (I don’t know what Vlad's position was - he acted like a manager - but he kept pointing to Ram as the main manager but Ram was equally as unprofessional, not empathetic, and showed no accountability on behalf of his shop). Vlad comes out and asks Alex to put the car up to check. I found the part of my bumper that got damaged due to contact with the tire. It is the "shoe shaped" plastic area of the bumper next to the tire. This plastic part exists on the right and left side of the bumper underneath the car. As the tire compressed this part on the right side it caused a tear and depression while the same part on the other side is looking pristine. I've uploaded both sides of the underneath of the bumper and when you've compared both sides, you can clearly see that the right side has a tear, bending, as well as compression of this part of the bumper which happened due to contact with the large tire lying around. This shop is so unprofessional that they responded that this damage could’ve happened with contact with anything on the road prior to my arrival for service even though they all agreed and knew Alex drove my car halfway over a tire laying around the shop. How can you acknowledge that one of your employees caused said damage and then claim that the damage caused is insignificant and preexisting? That's like me rear ending someone, causing even the smallest scratch, and saying "well that's insignificant and might've been there before". That's childish and a lack of accountability. You cause damage of any kind, you pay! It's that simple. Any damage however small, especially on a German or any premium model car can amount to over $1000 to replace. They didn’t even offer to pay any money for the damage, or even an apology. They acted like it was such an inconvenience that I was making a big deal about the damage. To make matters worse, Vlad purposely grew more distant and rude in his conversations with me after bringing the damage to his attention. It doesn’t matter how small the damage is - if you cause damage to someone’s car due to negligence, you should apologize and pay up. Not once did arrogant Vlad or the more arrogant manager Ram say sorry for the inconvenience and damage they caused. I’m writing a complaint to the better business bureau regarding this business so that people are aware not to come here for as long as people like Alex, Vlad, and Ram work here. Absolutely disgusting people! I kept my cool. Had I opened my mouth, I would’ve given them a...
Read moreI am compelled to share the abysmal experience my wife and I had with an individual (Marc C) who exemplified the worst characteristics imaginable. This person's astonishing levels of rudeness, irresponsibility, arrogance, disrespect, and ignorance left us feeling utterly disheartened and disgusted. To top it all off, they went so far as to disrespect my wife and even threatened to call the authorities based on his own ignorance. Marc's baseless accusations and unwarranted insults only served to further highlight their foolishness and complete lack of decency.
From the very beginning, this individual exuded an air of superiority that bordered on arrogance. He believed themselves to be the sole authority on every subject, dismissing any opposing viewpoints as inconsequential. His condescending attitude and dismissive demeanor were not only deeply offensive but also completely detrimental to any meaningful conversation or exchange of ideas.
Moreover, Marc's astounding level of rudeness was unparalleled. They showed a complete disregard for basic human decency, consistently belittling and insulting others. His derogatory comments were aimed not only at me but also at my wife, subjecting her to unnecessary and unwarranted disrespect. Such behavior is inexcusable and indicative of an individual lacking even a modicum of empathy or understanding.
In addition to his utter lack of respect, this individual demonstrated a shocking level of ignorance. His threats to involve the authorities were not only baseless but also a clear display of their own misguided beliefs and foolishness. Rather than engaging in a rational discussion, Marc resorted to labeling me as a liar, further showcasing their inability to grasp even the most basic concepts of civility and reason.
This regrettable encounter has left a lasting negative impact on my wife and me. We strongly advise others to steer clear of any interaction with this individual, as his exceptional rudeness, irresponsibility, arrogance, disrespect, and ignorance make for an utterly toxic and degrading experience. It is disheartening to witness such appalling behavior in a person who believes they know it all, while in reality, they possess nothing but a deeply flawed and disrespectful character.
Was I infuriated and got loud after being called a liar several times and after my wife got disrespected? Absolutely! Is this the way you speak to a woman? Could I have been worse then Marc after being disrespected on so many levels, Yes! Did I? No. I didn't allow myself to stoop down to his level and at the end of the day, I still needed a service done; which I still paid for even though I had a warranty.
I would like to say thank you to Lucas who was the technician for my vehicle. I appreciate his willingness to not only do the job but simply being RESPECTFUL and resolve the situation. Lucas handled the incident by doing his job and trying to remedy his co-worker. Thank you Lucas, it was a pleasure...
Read moreI scheduled an appointment with pep boys to get my tires installed. On 4/3/22 I went to the shop 15 minutes before my appointment. I spoke with a guy in their repair/installation department. He stated the installation was going to cost $10 more then the installation price on tire rack’s website. I told him that I think the price was supposed to be $33. He showed me his screen and the tire rack prices was not the price that came up. I sat down to look up the information on the tire rack webpage and in my email. I went back to him to show him the information and then he got short with me stating that he went over this 4 times with me. The fact of the matter is, this was the second time I approached him with the price discrepancy. I told him that on tire rack there are different installation cost for different sized tires. He said I can talk to the woman who is the manager. He came back 5 minutes later and told me I can come back on Monday and speak to a manager. I asked what happened to the woman manager that here a moment ago.He said, she said I would have to come back on Monday and talk with the other manager.
I am upset that they did not honor the price on tire rack and that the manager on site would not even speak with me. I am also upset that when I found the tire rack quoted price for my size tire he did not check if he put in the correct tire size.
As a side note, I have had the tires of another car replaced at this location and I have seen this same guy struggle with the computer. In the past he could not find my appointment or the price to charge me. He had to seek help from his manager. So I know it is possible that he does not know what he is doing on the computer .
Also, although I arrived to the appointment 15 minutes early, it still took them an over an 105 minutes to install 2 tires. They guy installing the tires seemed to be busy texting while he was working on my car. Also they could not find my tires to install although I told the first guy I spoke with that the tires are in the trunk. The appoint does not seem to help at all. It seems to be first come first served.
I am giving 1 start because during the complementary inspection they did find an issue with my car that I did not notice earlier. So...
