Great Wall is like any other Chinese fast food restaurant in NYC - it's a greasy spoon for quick fare that's a mixture between Chinese, American Latin and Caribbean food. I won't waste your time telling you what's on the menu because you already know. Once you've been to one of these restaurants you've been to them all. But what you don't know about Great Wall is that they are a vegetarian's dream Chinese food spot. I love this place because they do not skimp on the vegetables at all. The veggies are fresh and plentiful and in every dish. I go here just for the veggies with black bean sauce, garlic sauce or sesame sauce - with a few jumbo shrimps included too BTW. This is a great place if your in the neighborhood. I wouldn't have you go that far just for the veggies unless that matters to you. Wow, this place was good! I ordered the shrimp and broccoli with the roast pork fried rice and eggroll that came with the lunch special. The eggroll was free which I thought was awesome! Separately from that lunch special, I ordered a half of a fried chicken or I had a choice of four chicken wings, which it would’ve been the same priceIt wasn’t too pricey. I paid $19.27 for my whole order. I would’ve given them five stars but I did have to request that my chicken not be fried hard I got a feeling it would have been if I didn’t, but it was absolutely delicious. First of all I’ve lived in this neighborhood since 1982 and I’ve been a loyal customer since they’ve been here. This establishment is by 88th and Astoria and I live on 89th Street. I ordered chicken wings with tostones he said it was $11.05 I had $16. Left my change purse in my other bag but he let me slide for the .05 cents. Then I asked for an extra garlic sauce and she said it .25 cents. I was annoyed that they’re charging for that but I gave her my $5 bill and she proceeds to then charge me the .05 cents. They are the worst!! How you treat your customers like this just nickel and diming. You’re in my community!! I will never return to this establishment the woman was a rude person.
