Stop & Shop — Attraction in New York

I shop at this stop and shop all the time because it’s in my neighborhood but yesterday was the worse and most embarrassing experience I had in this store. I have an e-gift card from harboring hearts, when I went to use it the cashier Derrick scanned the barcode and said it wasn’t going through so he went to get the manager Natasha. When she came to the register she wanted me to show her the email where harboring hearts sent me the e-gift card before she would let me use it. She said ok you can use this then she scanned it again it said not found I asked her if she could put the number in manually she said she couldn’t. I said ok and left the store $300 worth of groceries, went in my car called customer service where they said the card was good and active and they didn’t see a history of the card declining and that they were supposed to use the card as credit. I went back in the store and asked for the manager again, minutes went passed she never showed up after they paged her numerous times. I than asked Derrick to call any manager he said he was trying to call her because she is who I was originally dealing with more minutes went by she still didn’t come so another another gentleman came to help me so didn’t catch his name but he was patient and listened to me. He called another young lady Jenelle that also came to help and the conclusion was she was supposed to enter the numbers manually. Natasha treated me like I was a scammer trying to get over on them because I had a gift card, she was not helpful at all. I was shopping with my postal uniform on and my 4 year old son I wasn’t in there trying to scam them and to be treated as such in my own neighborhood by my own people and where I shop frequently and spend my own money was so heartbreaking and extremely traumatizing. I had the worst experience at this Shop&Stop on 06/03/19. This Shop&Stop location is the worst. I have been to this location about 5 times and they have very poor customer service. When you ask for help with a particular product the employees refuse to help. They will rather tell you that they do not know which is not an acceptable answer in retail. If you work for a particular company you should be knowledgeable about the products. The salesperson should at least be able to direct you to a customer service rep for help. Instead, the salesperson shrugs their shoulders and tell you they do not know and keep walking.

As I was checking out on 06/03/19 I experienced one of the worst cashiers. The young man's name was Travis. As my fiancé and I approached the register Travis had an attitude and an irritated look on his face. Travis did not greet us and as he rung our items up there was a discrepancy with the price of an item that was on sale however this item was ringing up full price. Travis ask us did we want the item or not refusing to even verify if the item was indeed on sale. My fiancé stated that the item is on sale and my fiancé requested a manager. A manager by the name of Derrick came over offered to take the item off of the order. As a manager, Derrick should have done a price check but instead, he chose to remove the item from the order because he did not want to do the work. We are extremely disappointed we are paying customer and we were treated very poorly. I will never shop with Shop&Stop again that was the last time. Happy Christmas, 🎄, I was at this stop & shop on the 12/ 23 /2024, I love it's proximity to the high way , I love their Rotisserie Chicken, compared to the ones from their counter part Stop & shop so I encouraged all Stop & Shop to copy, their chicken is fully cooked, Golden brown, succulent, and all the parts intact and the prize is right. I love their salads, with white chicken , bread crumbs real delicious. Their toilet is well maintained meaning clean, tissue well placed and when it comes to long lines I will suggest hire free lands meaning daily workers to fill in on daily basis especially on holidays, weekends, snow days etc, which are done through Agencies or at Home Depot, you pick them up teach them how to use cash registers (Rotesseri Chicken, Remote Control, Civilization Rights, Retain Customers etc ) This is a wonderful way to retain customers and bring in more customers, increase sales, make profit.
