This isn’t your typical kids museum so know before you go. I took my 1 and 3 year old on a weekday and there was no wait which was great. The museum is super clean. All four of the staff I interacted with were extremely nice. Ms Kia was especially patient, kind, attentive & interacted well with every child present. My 1 year old didn’t care for anything here. My 3 year had a blast in the interactive rooms (playing with clay). She also enjoyed the station that had the magnets. She didn’t care for the wall art which is mostly what’s being displayed here. We did the scavenger hunt (easier for older kids) but my little one managed to find almost all items with my assistance. There’s also a station where kids can sit & read. There isn’t a whole lot to do but depending on your child, they can easily be entertained for 2 -3 hours. The bathrooms are kid friendly. They even have stools for the smaller kids. The locker / coat room is included but note, your belongings won’t actually be locked away but it’s a clean / big space to leave strollers, jackets etc. we didn’t get to hear any stories as I was told that occurs Saturday mornings. But overall, it was a good experience and I would...

Took my two kids (ages 7 & 8) to the Sugar Hill Children's Museum and we all had a fantastic time!
With free admission for children under 8, it's a budget-friendly option that packs a big punch.
The museum offered a wonderful variety of activities to keep my little artists busy. They happily spent time scratch coloring, creating masterpieces with clay, getting lost in a good book, and tackling a fun scavenger hunt. There were also classic favorites like coloring stations and pipe cleaners for open-ended creativity.
What truly elevated our experience was the amazing staff. Gio and Zelly went above and beyond, engaging with the children and offering creative guidance. They helped my kids explore different ways to represent their artwork, fostering their imaginations in a way that felt both playful and educational.
If you're looking for a fun and inspiring place to take your young children, I highly recommend the Sugar Hill...
Read moreI wanted to love this place because it’s in our neighborhood and seems like a great resource. But at least during our first visit, it didn’t seem much like a museum for kids. There was a black and white photography exhibit with photos mounted high on the walls, and a small exhibit about an Indian jazz musician that relied on descriptive cards for explanation and there was nothing to touch or hear. Great for adults, but not sure for kids? My little is only a year old, and we ended up just sitting and playing in a room with the blocks and books, both of which we had at home. There seemed to be an art activity of some kind, but there were no other kids doing it and it was far too advanced for a 1 yo. I think this museum is a nice indoor space for a winter playdate, but I wish they had more for my daughter to do—kids her age need color and sensory...
