UPDATED REVIEW:
It seems management don't care if the employees know how to massage or not. The "masseuse" was rushing as if she doesn't want to do it. Clearly doesn't know pressure points, just squeeze away wherever her elbow lands. Neck should not be squeezed as hard as the back, that is very dangerous! Also, the ac vent is directed straight down where I laid on the furthest room close to the bathroom, so I got cramps in the back. Its was difficult to explain/tell her because she can't speak/understand English. Tip for anyone reading and still want to try them out, after 10-15 mins if you think the masseuse is doing a horrible job like mine, just ask them to switch for another one.
They didn't change the price, but the quality of service dropped significantly, its good news for anyone looking for a job, they just hire anyone off the street. Don't even need experience. Obviously, won't be going there anymore.
PREVIOUS REVIEW:
The lobby has a pretty decent ambiance, relatively clean and tidy. Rooms are average-sized, dimly lit and somewhat clean as well.
I don't think the masseuses have shifts so as a general rule, do not come here on afternoons or evenings. They will all be tired and unenthusiastic about the service.
I went here a 3-4 times, each were slightly different outcome despite having the same masseuse. The last one was the worst as I went in the evening BIG MISTAKE.
I didn't know about their "tip" rule because I always give higher than normal tips. I'm guessing they don't pay the employees right so they...
Read moreI found this place in the winter and was amazed at how great the massages were. I continued to be a regular. Recently, they have hired new staff who, compared to the old staff, are horrible. My first time with a new masseuse she was so bad I actually stopped her half way through - and I still paid. This time, I was hoping some to get one of the more experienced masseuses, but a got a new one. She meant well, but I felt she had no grasp of the muscles and therefore just kept going up and down my back, in the same motion. I didn't even feel like she was applying enough pressure to reach the musculature beneath my skin. It felt like she way just moving my skin in the same motion for an hour. It was an unpleasant massage. The new masseuses need a lesson on the orientation of the muscles in the human body, so that they can massage them and not my skin or bones. I feel very annoyed for wasting $50.
Follow up: I've become accustomed to scheduling with my preferred message therapist. I called to make an apt today and got a phone call asking if I could come later because a client came half an hour late. I tried to explain, it's not my problem that a client came late. I made an appointment. I don't understand what making an appointment is for if it...
Read moreFIRST TIME ME AND MY FRIEND VISITED THIS SWAN SPA AFTER HEARING VERY HIGH PRAISE AND RECOMMENDATIONS.
CHARGES WERE FINE.
BOTH LADIES HAD SEVERE COLD, BLOCKED NOSE.
KEPT ON LYING IN CONFUSION WHETHER TO COMPLAIN OR NOT. IF COMPLAIN, POOR LADIES WILL LOOSE THEIR MONEY.
MASSAGE WAS OK.
MY FRIEND PAID THE CHARGES $45/- EACH AND TRIED TO GAVE TIP $ 5 EACH. IN THE MEANTIME I WENT TO THE RECEPTION, AFTER MY MASSAGE DONE, I SAW THE LADIES WERE ARGUING WITH MY FRIEND SEVERLY TO PAY $15/- AS TIP PER PERSON.
I WAS PREPARED TO PAY $20/- AS TIP, BEFORE I CAME OUT OF THE MASSAGE ROOM AND I WAS HOLDING TWO DOLLAR TEN BILLS. BUT WHEN I SAW THIS ARGUMENT, I WAS VERY MUCH DISAPPOINTED. ANYWAY I GAVE $20/-. AS TIP AND MY FRIEND PAID $15/- AS TIP. LEFT THE PLACE THE SPA.
ADVISE : WHENEVER ONE GOES TO ANY SPA, PLEASE CONFIRM THAT MASSAGER IS FINE, NO COUGH, COLD, FEVER ETC.
ENQUIRE ABOUT THE MASSAGE DETAILS BEFOREHAND BECAUSE MAXIMIUM TIME WAS SPENT ON THE HANDS & BACK. SO VERY LESS TIME LEFT FOR HEAD AND LEGS.
LASTLY TIP IS CUSTOMER'S CHOICE. MINIMUM 10% I GUESS, REST IS INDIVIDUAL'S CHOICE, DEPENDING UPON SATISFACTION.
NOT A...
