On 9/25/2024 at about 7:42pm. I bought stroller for my baby at this Store. The box was not sealed so I asked if i can open it before i pay. Cashier Fatima asked store manager Shatima and she said no. She said that somebody got 3 strollers for baby shower and just return this one. I said that the cardbord on the top of the box is glued and that anybody can glue the box back but nobody can seal it back, but she insisted that i can not open the box, and so either I buy it or not. I had no choice other than buy it like that. I came home and opened the box, there was used, old, dirty stroller. I came back to the store showed it to another manager Sandra, she was shocked. I said that I was very disappointed and spent a lot of time coming back returning it. And that all of it wouldn't happen if Shatima would allow me to open it in the first place. Sandra asked Shatima if she did not allow me to open the box and see the stroller. She confirmed and then started to behave defiantly and aggressively. I asked why is she talking to me in this manner. I think her bahavior from the beginning was not professional. I was able to return the stroller but nobody apologized and didn't offer any kind of compensation to me. I think that TJ Maxx as a nationwide retailer can not afford to treat customers like that. Read moreThis store posted that they was hiring a week ago . So I applied . Today I followed up to check on the status of my application , I was out on a brief hold to speak to a manager . I told her that I wanted to follow up with my application she stated that she was in a meeting and I should call back two hours . After two hours I called her and she asked me a few questions regarding where I previously worked . I have one year experience with customer service and open availability . I told her that I have open availability from M- F morning and afternoon she interrupted And stated “ no weekends .” I told her I was getting to that and that I am available weekends but on Sundays I have class . Once I told her that she firmly stated that she needs workers on Sundays and it looks like I’m not available . Why would you make up your own criteria instead of just saying you don’t want to hire anybody despite posting that your hiring on the internet ? Tj maxx needing a worker for “Sundays only “ was never stated in the job requirements at all . As a manager why Would you even do that . I told her this wasn’t stated on the online job application and then she hung up. Very rude and nasty behavior from a manager . It’s holiday season every retail place needs seasonal worker . I won’t never shop here again . Be better for the community...
Read moreI visited the T.J.Maxx location at 176-60 Union Turnpike, Fresh Meadows, NY 11366, on June 2nd, 2025, at approximately 3:30 PM. with the intention of purchasing jewelry and other items. Upon arrival, there were only two other customers at the jewelry counter, one being assisted and the other waiting. Unfortunately, both customers took an extended amount of time viewing and purchasing multiple items. As a result, my husband and I ended up waiting over an hour just to be helped.
This delay was not only frustrating but also a major inconvenience. My husband has health issues that make prolonged standing difficult, and he had to repeatedly leave to feed the parking meter. I chose to wait only because I was committed to making a purchase that day, but the experience was far from acceptable.
While the lone sales associate was pleasant and courteous, she was clearly overwhelmed trying to manage multiple customers by herself. I believe this situation could have been avoided if there were at least one more employee stationed at the jewelry counter during peak hours.
