I'm going to try my best to be fair here, but read through my whole review and you'll see why this place deserves 1/5 stars...
I found this place because my computer was broken and it has such high google reviews. It really feels like many people had such a different experience than me because what I experienced was:
Here's my story: My PC Tower would not turn on after suddenly shutting off and it wasn't the outlet, power cord, or PSU. I suspected my motherboard may have shortcircuited so I took it to Wahid at the Tech Guys Pro IT Services. When I pulled up I realized it was a residential building, and not a business one, which already made me feel somewhat uncomfortable with leaving my computer here but I decided to trust in the process. Wahid told me 1 to 2 days to diagnose the problem and he'd give me a call to let me know what he found. 2 days later Wahid calls me and tells me that both my motherboard and CPU need to be replaced. I was confused because that seemed like a lot of things to go wrong at once and Wahid then told me after this that well maybe it would only be the motherboard but he wanted to replace both to be safe. I kind of felt like I was being scammed at this point, but then I asked how much it would cost to replace just the motherboard and he tells me if I get the part he'll do me a special deal for $1,000, mentioning he normally charges $1,200 for it. I was frankly blown away, $1,000? For replacing a motherboard? After negotiating more I "bring" him down to $650 because he "wants to work with me." I said I'd think about it, but it seems too expensive since the cost to replace the parts and buy them would be close to the price I paid for my computer at this point. In reality, I already decided to go to another shop. I then asked to get my computer from him, picked it up that same day and was ready to leave after paying his outrageously priced diagnostic fee of $150 (when most other places charge you $75 or $100 at most like other local repair shops like repair sharks or henry's computer repairs). Of course he tells me when I'm ready to pay that he only accepts Zelle or Cash and I wonder why? I have to go to the nearest TD Bank to get cash and then finally get my computer back. Wahid wasn't very good at reading people because he then told me that if I ever wanted any licensced software such as Microsoft Office 360 or others that I can just give him my computer and he can get them for me for free... forever! I thank him and leave with my computer; his last comment reconfirming my thoughts that he is a scammer and fine pirating licensed software illegally and uploading to other people's computers. I took my computer to another repair shop and they charged $250 to replace the motherboard as well as some additional items I upgraded and they did it in an afternoon once I had the parts. Long story short, I would never trust this guy around any of my electronics. Below you'll see two pictures: one as proof that I was a customer and was charged a $150 diagnostic fee and one showing my motherboard which had two of its wires bent out of shape after I got it back from The Tech Guys, which could have been when they were diagnosing it or maybe I had it before but I was told that everything was back in its original condition by them.
Edit: In response to Wahid. None of that happened and you can see on my receipt that I was charged $150 for diagnostics only. I didn't even want him to repair my computer because I can't trust him to charge me a fair price or tell me what's going on. Shop around before you go to him. I did get my computer repaired and for only $250 (including diagnostics). Not the $1,000 that was initially quoted to me or the $650...
Read moreWahid was very accommodating to all of my own circumstances and fixed my laptop efficiently. However, do not be fooled by the reviews. You giving a review is contingent upon a lower price. I have a MacBook Air and needed a complete assembly repair. After having received my laptop I noticed that the screen replacement wasn’t completely on as I had to push it back into the housing. I also could see the hardware through the cracks of the new screen which was not there before and not normal. Having had my laptop and knowing it like the back of my hand something felt sketchy. I called Wahid and he insisted that it was because the housing was also damaged. Which I found to be a complete lie because he failed to mention it during the original diagnostic he ran. I went to Apple and they confirmed that seeing the hardware behind the screen WAS NOT because of a housing problem. I called Wahid a week later after him not responding to my messages and I insisted on a partial refund being that I gave him my laptop to fix and it came back with more faults than it left with. Haven spoken to Erica at the Apple in Grand Central this was a faulty repair and was not worth the repair if it came back with more damage that can pose as a problem in the future. Wahid refused any type of refund. I will be suing Wahid having documented all of our messages and calls. Also, be mindful that Wahid is a druggy. He was speaking to my boyfriend about drugs on a complete rant. That’s very apparent having met him in person. Admittedly I was very inconsistent with the scheduling for a drop off due to my hectic life which he was very understanding about. However, towards the end he showed up at my job and threatened to sell my laptop. Afterwards when I called him he insisted we were friends after threatening to sell my laptop. Lastly, and most importantly he fixes the laptop in his home. Wahid’s home must have roaches because I found a roach in the screen HE REPLACED the same day I received it. Wahid is a very understanding guy however I do not recommend taking your devices here. He accused me of being a scammer when he conveniently blocked me the same day I got my laptop and made the complaint. He told me that he did the repair and I should be grateful because it’s the best I could’ve gotten when the repair has...
Read moreOn a Saturday I had the opportunity to Drop my Laptop to Wahid, told him it's running slow more so just got to add some speed to it. He went over his pricing fee, 100 dollars for diagnostic if it is repairable he will waive the fee & charge for everything else. The following Monday I haven't heard from him, I called to ask about the statues he said he will get back to me that day,Tuesday the latest. As patient as I am I waiting, two days pass by NO call NO text. Early Wednesday morning I send him a text saying you don't have to work on my laptop I will pick up that evening. Awhile later while I'm at work I seen a missed call from him. Then in a txt he said diagnostic is Already completed, HOW!!??? if I hadn't heard from this company in 5 days
The only Reason why he's saying that is so he could get paid for something he didn't do or worked on (SCAM).This person babysat held on to my Laptop from Saturday to Wednesday and didn't work on it. UNTIL I said don't look into it I will pick it up. Make it make Sense!!! He thought he could fool me. How can I believe him He could have just said whatever so he could still get PAID. This individual is not a professional at all (SNAKE). I saw in the comments he's prompt not in my experience 5 days Waiting it probably would have been longer if I didn't say anything. Came off as kinda Judgemental in person guess he saw me as a certain demographic and his poor service reflected on that.
That evening I came to him to get my laptop, he would not give it to me until he received 100 dollars I was so upset smh. Waste of Time & Money. Unfair business practice, liar & scammer . To all do your research and...
