Tucked under the industrial sprawl of Brooklyn, Under the K Bridge turns concrete into culture—and on July 12, it turned into a full-on rave cathedral. I went for the Boiler Room event and left somewhere between euphoric and dehydrated.
The DJ lineup was stacked: 4EVR, Chicken, DJ Swisha, Floating Points, Fundido, Hainafromchina, Hiroko Yamamura, Main Phase, TH4YS, Todd Edwards, Tohji, Young Marco, and Zoe Glitter. Yes, I kept the list. No, I’m not okay. Every set brought its own flavor, and the crowd was locked in—heads nodding, bodies sweating, speakers vibrating like tectonic plates. Floating Points in particular transported the whole place into another dimension.
Now, about the drinks: they were eye-wateringly expensive, but that’s just part of the ticket when you’re at a high-production venue like this. I wasn’t expecting bargain bin pricing at a Boiler Room showcase, so I simply hydrated with purpose and leaned into the music.
The atmosphere was everything. That open-air underpass vibe created a sort of post-apocalyptic utopia: warehouse grit meets global beat culture. The lighting was mesmerizing, the sound was clean, and there was just enough space to dance without elbowing strangers (unless you wanted to).
I’m seriously considering grabbing tickets for Head in the Clouds when it rolls in. If this night was any indication, Under the K Bridge is cementing itself as one of NYC’s best alternative venues—literally and...
Read moreWent here recently for the bladee concert, while me and my group were fine, the security/staff here treated other concertgoers poorly.
Firstly, they had porta potty’s out in the front but wouldn’t let anyone waiting in line use it (which is inhumane and bathrooms should be a human right). We all had tickets and are paying to go into their venue, no they just wanted you to hold it or pee on yourself.
Secondly, they were banning people for no reason or for the stupidest things. Such as a girl threw something in the wrong designated trash- they banned her for it. Or this guy stood out of line for a second and returned, they sent him to the back of the line when he was waiting for hours up front. The staff here are on a power trip and think we need to bow down to them. Absolutely ridiculous.
Lastly, they’re not on the same page when it comes to giving orders. This one guy was telling us to spread out on the pavement (he was very rude and condescending), while another girl who was checking ID’s was telling us to stand single filed. Y’all don’t have it put together and ruined a numbered line that was going on for hours.
Overall, if you plan on traveling for a concert and it’s here- don’t do it. Pick another venue or something. The staff thinks they are prestigious or something. It ain’t that deep and it’s just a music venue,...
Read moreHad my phone stolen here on June 5th at the Turnstile show. After the show ended I went to Guest Services to see if someone had turned it in thinking that it was lost and found that the Guest Services line was over 50+ people who had also lost their phones. It was extremely disorganized and honestly the most upsetting experience I’ve ever had at a venue because the staff was just rushing to get everyone out without assistance. I found a reddit thread that confirmed that there was some kind of ring targeting concert goers to steal phones at this venue over the last few months and staff hasn’t done anything about it. I will never go to this venue for a show again and advise anyone seeking a good time to go somewhere else as you will likely get robbed and no one will do...
