Lovely Nails Salon — Local services in Newark

when I lived on court, I would always go here: to either the first two booths or a Spanish woman at the first booth on the left.. so I came back, everything usual until painting for my pedicure. I know I look young but Spanish lady at first chair for pedicure site tried to play me, cleaned and shape my nail good but was so sloppy and heavy on the gel application: the getting upset because I didn’t accept the horrible job. Lisa fixed it and stabbed me in my cuticle during her application. Why she had to use the cuticle cutter idk but she rammed it into my cuticle of my big toe and Im big on places that cut you and aren’t sterilize since I’m a nurse and aware of infection control. They should already know not to take personal feelings into business but oh well. So check the pics. The first application compared to Lisa fixture and how deep she stabbed me. Ain’t no way you cutting cuticles and slip up and stab that hard and precise. People are wicked these days. Lovely nail studio is around the corner. Kevin is awesome. That’s my new spot! HORRIBLE PLACE. I called a few days ahead to ask how much a fill in for short nails was. The lady on the phone told me $28. I live an hour away and just decided to take the drive because $28 for a fill is great! I got there and the lady finished the nails all while not really paying attention because she was too busy watching her Netflix show. The nails were crooked and still had my previous nail color on under the new color. When she finished she said the price was $45. I explained to her I was told $28 and that is the reason I came. The women said she didn’t know what I was talking about and why I was told $28. Then tired to tell me I was calling a different store. She then tried to tell me a FILL IS THE SAME PRICE AS A FULL SET. Mind you I have been coming to this same salon for 7 YEARS. Never had issues. Their service and work has declined a lot. I decided to give this company a try as I had been a previous customer for many years under the original owner. I went there Friday, 5/17 as soon as they opened and I was serviced by Mary. The pedicure gel polish application isn’t good. You can still see the clear gel too coat dried up around that she didn’t clean. My finger nails are already chipping and some nails aren’t even colored in full gel top coat. I see streaks. She started rushing my nails when another customer walked in because it was her turn again to do another customer and she wanted to hurry with me. Soon as she finished she didn’t even inspect my nails, just tapped my hand as to say I’m done and ran to the back to start the other customer. I can usually go 3 weeks with no problems and today make a week and they look HORRIBLE!...
