"The Spot" versus multiple locations of "The Parking Spot" was very confusing, and the lone attendant on duty didn't seem interested in clarifying for us. Long wait, outdoors, for shuttle to the airport. Fortunately we rode with a return customer who (almost) explained everything.
When we returned and landed at Newark I had to call four times in 20 minutes for the shuttle to pick us up. Directions about where and how to meet the shuttle were unclear, and we watched in envy as multiple shuttles from hotels and "The Parking Spot" whizzed past us. Driver eventually showed up and was apologetic about the late shift change or something. But he couldn't understand me when I told him where we had parked, and my family and I ended up walking halfway across the lot in the dark with our luggage to get to the car. Discount coupon I had printed out basically amounted to voiding the sales tax.
I understand that these are first-world problems and I don't want to sound as if I'm nitpicking or whining. But there are simply too many long-term parking options around Newark Airport for "Spot" to run their business so poorly. (Again, I’m pretty sure I’m talking about “Spot" and not "The Parking Spot," although two separate parking lots with similar names and identical logo fonts operating right next to each other made me feel like I was in a bad SNL sketch.) Air travel with a family is stressful enough; I would have expected a higher level of customer service for the money spent. I read reviews on other airport parking lots and since this one had the best reviews, I decided to go with them. And I can absolutely see why they have such a great rating ! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Complimentary water was offered to us during our short wait for the shuttle to arrive (literally 3 minutes) to transport us to the airport. The driver was pleasant and professional. He helped load and unload our luggage off the shuttle.
On our return home at the baggage claim area, I opened The Parking Spot app to track where our shuttle was and received a message saying that the app had contacted the shuttle driver letting them know that we were near by and that a shuttle would be arriving shortly. The instructions were clear where to go for our shuttle and when we arrived to our pick up spot, our shuttle was already there waiting for us. Our shuttle driver was super nice. He even dropped us off right at our car in the lot and since I had opened my trunk with my key fob before exiting the shuttle, he loaded our luggage into the trunk for us !
When exiting the parking lot, there were plenty of signs telling us where the exits were. And when we got to the exit gate, there was a fridge full of complimentary water for us to grab for our ride home.
The parking lot is well lit with a blue light (which is easier on the eyes at night) and although the parking spots are typical for long term parking, I have zero damage !

Read moreIdiot proof!!! I signed up and paid in advance for Valet uncovered Parking. I was traveling by myself and was very nervous the first time using PS. Signage was very clear once inside the Hayes location. I knew exactly which lane to go through and by the time I pulled up to the covered valet there was a gentleman standing there to welcome me. He took my bags out of my car; reminded me to double check that I had everything I needed; I gave him my key and he gave me my tag and told me all instructions for my return were on it, to put it somewhere safe that I’d be able to find when I returned in a week. He then took my bags and me around the waiting building to where the shuttle would pull in. It did so as I was standing there and again, that driver took my bags and put them in the shuttle and invited me aboard. He dropped me right at the entrance for United with my bags and Venmo Tipping was so easy! Upon my return, AT 4:30 AM I went and got my bags at baggage claim and made my way out to the curb. The app has a very user friendly map showing where (you are) and where the shuttle will get you. Not even a minutes walk. Again, pick up was easy and straightforward. It was absolutely freezing and when we got to the lot my car had been pulled up front and was running to warm it up. It was so nice to have a warm car ready to go.
