POST-COVID 19 UPDATE:
The club got so much better since the last time we reviewed it in November 2021. Great amenities, privacy booths, wide array of snacks, fruits, salads, baguette sandwiches, soups, and hot dishes. The resting area is more than spacious fit for every kind of traveller; the bar at the far end of the lounge is not free (like in Polaris) Not sure if that's the right club, for there exists quite a confusion on Google Maps regarding United Polaris Club, that just got reopened this past Monday (November 15th). It has been closed since the beginning of the pandemics; that's the apparent reason Google Map doesn't list it but lists two other locations, the infamous pop--up club near the gate 93, Terminal C, and the one (C124) we are currently reviewing. I suspect that it is indeed United Polaris Club, located around Gate 120-121. We haven't noticed much difference since the pre-Covid-19 days. The club is really spacious, if not gigantic, divided into work area, dining area, buffet area, bar counter seating area, and the resting area. Tables and chairs are very comfortable, as well as other amenities, including an adequate number of restrooms. The buffet choices are really decent for an airport lounge, there are plenty of salads, cereals, fruits, cheeses, cold cuts, as well as a dedicated hot dishes counter. The table service dining offerings are sufficiently versatile including Atlantic cod with mushrooms, cheese platter, spicy cauliflower, etc. The menu is divided into appetizers, small bites, and main courses. One has to bear in mind that all fine-dining services (food and beverages) are free for the United Polaris customers. If you are hard pressed for time, skip a table dining meal and opt for buffet choices instead, for the table service may get quite slow. Highly...
Read moreIt was totally overcrowded. People that could have sat in one chair chose to sit in 2 chairs together and put their bags on the other chair and NO ONE WORKING THERE SAID ANYTHING ABOUT IT. After walking in circles a few times my husband and I found a couch. IT WAS SO UNCOMFORTABLE. I was slouching in the cushion and it was making me sick. I found a small chair and I pulled it over by my husband. To support my back I put my coat on the table in front of me so I could raise my legs. I WAS SO COMFORTABLE. To my surprise the woman GRETA who was in the front of the club to assist people coming in came all the way over to rebuke me about putting my feet up. Not being in the best of moods I was not happy with her authoritarian reprimand. So I moved my chair over to the couch, took my shoes off, put my coat on the couch and put my feet up. Again to my surprise Greta's cohort (? Berta) who was suppose to be doing her job in the front came racing over to tell me to take my feet down. I asked her where could I put my feet up and she said a foot stool SO I WENT TO GET A FOOT STOOL and GRETA AND BERTA HAD A SECURITY GUARD COME OVER TO TELL ME THAT I COULDN'T TOUCH THE FURNITURE. OMG. I told my husband that this situation sucked and I wanted to leave AND THE SECURITY PERSON OR MY HISBAND THINKS HE COULD HAVE BEEN A MANAGER ACTUALLY THANKED ME FOR LEAVING. I left because I was so being upset THE SECURITY OR MANAGER REFUSED TO GIVE MY HUSBAND HIS NAME AND HAD HIS BADGE TUCKED IN HIS POCKET
SOO SHADY. WHO ALLOWS THEIR...
Read moreI am submitting this review around early afternoon since timing does matter with club selections and business. The club is located up and escalator near gate C123. A membership or club pass is required to gain entrance as well as a same day departure on a United flight. There is a restriction of access to only 3 hrs before flight departure but I have yet to see United enforce it. The club itself is vast with plenty of seating along the way to the main dining area as well as within the dining area. There is a bar with complimentary alcohol including beer and spirits and for non alcoholic options there is a water dispenser and coca cola freestyle with a handful of options. For food, I arrived during later lunch. Options included 3 types of sandwiches including one Vegan. There was a salad bar with unmixed options like lettuce, carrots, etc. There was a cheese tray with fruit and a section with two hot entrees that change with the day. Again a vegan and a meat option. Finally, there was one dessert item, in my case a brownie. The space as I said is vast, so it does not feel as crowded as Priority Pass lounges. The restrooms were clean and good quality. There is plenty of charging spaces too and comfortable seating if you'll be staying a while. Overall, no reason to pass up on the club especially if you have the membership. If you are looking to pay the $60 one time pass, I think it's still worth it if combining comfort, atmosphere, and...
