Summerland Homemade Ice Cream & Patisserie — Restaurant in Newport Beach

My wife and I travel from coast to coast for work and while on the road we spend the effort to find real local food of all kinds specifically the fun kinds of food. We find ourselves in Newport often and NEVER miss a chance to stop by Summerland for ice cream. This is real hand made food, it is our favorite ice cream in the world, and we do get around. It's simple and tastes fresh, clean and balanced. It's hard to explain how something so basic like ice cream can be so much better here than anywhere else...then you meet the owner, and you'll know in a hurry that you are in good hands. This little shop is so cute it was the end of the day when I came so a lot of the desserts were sold out but I did get a small pumpkin pie and some macaroons followed by ice cream. My desserts that were to go were packed individually and in some small boxes and they also made sure that I had utensils. Their ice cream is organic homemade and is absolutely the best my favorite was the pineapple coconut. I loved it so much I had to get another scoop of it. The other flavors I had were chocolate chip cookie dough, peanut butter chunks, and Carmel sea salt. All so Good 😊 I recommend...

Was it worth the 20-minute drive from CDM all the way to Balboa peninsula to have this ice cream? Absolutely! It’s that good, and it’s all organic. Let’s just say, I was blown away by the flavors and freshness. Totally loved the texture, and the home made feel. I splurged with the Caramel and Vanilla Bean half-scoops and they were just too good. I am glad I walked away from the place because if I had stayed put, I would have gone for seconds. I am looking forward to trying out the coconut flavors on...
