If you're high risk or incredibly safe with COVID don't even bother coming here. I honestly never write reviews but I've been going to this store for the past few months and whenever I go in the customers are talking behind the counter without their masks on or up.. I always stand there and wait a few minutes until they're ready to address me. Usually there's 2-8 employees just joking around behind the counter and it takes a couple minutes to get their attention which is kind of annoying but not the biggest deal... today I went in to get wood pellets & this very tall, old man went out to help me move the pellets to my car. I asked him politely if he would pull his mask up (as it was down completely & I would be right next to him loading up the car); he then immediately got unnecisarily insulted and said something like "WERE OUTSIDE!" before storming off while talking to himself saying "I can't believe this are you kidding me..." NOW, I'm high risk and only go to the store once every few weeks to be careful.. I don't know why me asking him to pull up his mask lead to him storming off, almost like a child having a temper tantrum! This man was a minimum of three times my age, you'd think people would be able to handle themselves like adults but no... His blatant lack of common curtesy has definitely lost them a customer as I will be taking my business to Agway instead. I only share this all because I want to warn anyone who is COVID-safe or high risk,...
Read moreWas super excited about starting a fish tank at home for my son and at this point it's either drive two hours or buy online because I'm DREADING returning to the pet department at the Pick and Shovel. The worse customer service I've ever had...the woman either were busy trying to close, holding personal conversation, or chatting it up with a customer about who knows what. When I did get their attention(both times after I had been there for at least fifteen minutes and had to look for them) they with much disgust rushed me through their 'help' with plenty of "I don't knows" and probably what would have been dead fish after a week if I hadn't researched having a tank and my particular fish. What amazes me is they don't care if your there or not let alone take the time to find a fish that fits you or your home. They point to what you hope is the right item and resume pretending you are not there. So, after giving it much thought I was going to write some feed back to a manager or at least their website and found there has been as much thought, work, professionalism, customer consideration & understanding, and product knowledge put into the site as what's going on in the pet store. I've been trying to stay loyal to our local businesses but, I can tell you the few times I've been in Sticks n Stuff it's been enjoyable with exceptional...
