The Wellington Resort- When my wife found this property, she and I were very excited. The representation of the property showed it to have everything we desired. Website pictures showing waterfront property, in and outdoor pool with spacious living space in the room with a patio. Upon checking in my wife asked if our room was (the same room that was confirmed when she booked the reservation), the best room available which we were assured that it was. Upon first entry to our room, we noticed the AC unit was very loud but the room was cool. The rugs were a few years beyond the need of replacing, The bathroom was also not up to what we would have called clean as well (Mildew in shower and tub). We had to make a trip to the store for 3 cans of Lysol along with other cleaners to make the room be livable at a minimal level. After finally being able to unpack we enjoyed the waterfront views from the patio. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Upon returning to our room on the second day our smoke detector was alerting us to low battery, we called the front desk and they said they would be right up. After 45 minutes I called again and was told that he was the only one on and could not leave the front desk. I went and got the 2 batteries needed at the front desk and replaced them myself. The detector kept alerting low battery even with new batteries. I had no choice but to remove the detector from the power supply and left it on the night stand. After going to dinner, the second day we returned and my wife turned on the shower. The valve stem froze in the hot position running uncontrolled. After both of us attempting to turn the valve off we called the front desk where we found no one, seeing it was after hours. We called the answering service and finally got to speak to someone about the problem. After 50 minutes, they dispatched a gentleman who was able to shut the water flow off. All and all I would say avoid the Wellington if they don’t perform extensive improvements, especially at the prices they charge for a subpar at best property.

The Wellington is perfectly located within walking distance to many Newport attractions. My husband and I stayed a few days to get some relaxation. We stayed during off season so some amenities such as bike rentals and outdoor swimming weren't available. However the heated indoor pool was very nice. Although dated in design, the rooms are spacious and very, very clean. Our one bedroom suite had a fridge, microwave, toaster oven and washer dryer. The ocean views from the rear balcony were spectacular and relaxing to watch the sunrise and sunset. The fireplace was also a romantic plus. The staff was friendly and accommodating. This is a great place to vacation with families.or for to just unplug for a few days.

A wonderful resort on Newport RI. The property. is lovely and right on the water. The rooms are oversized with great kitchens and sitting areas. My room had a full kitchen so we could cook and has everything you need. Great with the kids. The bathrooms have nice tubs too. The property. has indoor pool year round and outdoor pool with whirlpool for summer use only. Right on the main drag with so many great bars, restaurants and stores. The staff is always very professional and helpful. My kids most definitely and I recommend this property for your next stay.

My family and i stay here ever year and we absolutely love it. The view is amazing, there is a playground next door, the rooms are huge and there is plenty of space for everyone, the separate apt w own bathroom is unique and perfect for us, a kitchen is always a bonus, the pools are perfect providing good fun, the staff is always so kind and helpful and location is walking distance to everywhere; it is perfect. (If i had to pick one negative i would say style is 80’s in all the units but i do not mind what so ever the place is perfect in my opinion)
