Complimentary Cafe is hands down one of my favorite spots in Skokie! The compliment on my coffee cup made me smile more than I expected such a simple, yet powerful idea. The drinks are outstanding.I've tried their signature lattes and refreshing mocktails, and both were crafted with care. Their pastries are fresh and pair perfectly with anything on the menu. I also appreciate their seasonal offerings and how they keep the menu interesting and locally sourced. What really sets this cafe apart is the vibe. The decor is modern, cozy, and aesthetically pleasing ideal for catching up with friends or working quietly on your laptop. I’ve seen families, students, and professionals all enjoying the space comfortably. The owners have clearly put their heart into this place, and it shows. They're involved, kind, and you can tell they genuinely care about their customers and the community. Complimentary Cafe is more than just a coffee shop,it’s an experience that lifts your mood and keeps you coming back. Highly recommend to anyone in the area or even just passing through! Shoutout to Sara and Zehraan, Zehraan suprises me with new drinks and Sara has the best latte art.

I found Complimentary Cafe to be a very nice small cafe. I tried two drinks. One was a cc latte, which can be made either sweet or less sweet. I opted in for one that was less sweet. I got the latte and it was beautiful. They put a design on the latte and the flavor was not sweet, but, still very flavorful with hints of cinnamon. I very much enjoyed it. After I finished the latte, I decided on getting an iced coffee. The iced coffee had a very unique flavor to me. It has a strong oak flavor with hints of smoke. To me, it was the strongest flavor coffee I have had in a long time. To me, that was not a bad thing. I in fact enjoyed it very much. But, I can see the flavor throwing many people off guard. Something unique to this cafe was that they write little notes on their cups if you take it to go. They will write a little message on your napkin if you have a coffee to stay. In my opinion, it was a very nice gesture to make someone's day.

Nestled in downtown skokie, shining as a beacon of light is Compliment Coffee. I went a few time before writing this review, and I can confidentially say it's the best coffee in downtown skokie. Especially the shaken expresso, which is rich in flavor but goes down smooth, everytime. It has a very warm and cozy atmosphere where people come in and study, and friends meet to catch up. A acoustic guitar sits in the corner with no dust on it that could boost the mood, not that you would need it because every single cup of coffee has a hand written complement written by the staff on it. we all have our ups and downs in life, next time you need a pick me up stop into Complimentary Coffee. Also worth mentioning you can pre buy a cup of coffee for a friend or family member and put the hand saver heat sleeve in a basket by the door with a message for them, which is a really great idea. Stop by today and support this business, you won't regret it.

From July 1st, 2023 until August 4th, 2024 I ran tournaments at this cafe on available Sundays. This event could only exist because the owners had a presiding interest in creating a positive event for the community to benefit from.

Over the course of the next year, I ran a total of 24 events; these events garnered over 600 unique players, inspired other organizers to start tournaments of their own, and let me lead a period of my life where I felt incredibly happy and fulfilled to be part of something GREATER. I was figuring out how to organize and manage tournaments as I went, but the café was always patient with me, and always gave me the time I needed to grow. They truly trusted in the process and we kept a clear line of communication about changes and requests from the venue as to make the best experience possible, and it was truly AMAZING.

The drinks are incredible. I have given out more lavender vanilla matchas, london fogs, and spanish lattes than I can count, and not a single person ever said that they didn't LOVE them. The staff are the nicest, most compassionate group of baristas you will ever meet. I've worked with almost every staff member who's ever worked at CC and it truly is a 100% success rate in finding incredible people.

The atmosphere could not be overstated and it MADE my events. Despite our home-brought equipment (and my inexperience), the immaculate vibes, music, drinks & staff made us absolutely BLOW UP in popularity. We went from new to the scene to singlehandedly expanding the scene and bringing in new players.

As of writing this review, I have just completed hosting my very last tournament at Complimentary Cafe; we streamed the event live to 140 people to enjoy, whilst the venue was filled with 60+ competitors. I'm not sure if this is something I could ever truly accomplish again with a different venue, and I'm sad to see it end, but I am unbelievably grateful and proud that I had the ability and opportunity to run an event as awesome as this was.

Thank you Riyaz for letting me have this opportunity, and thank you to every single one of the CC staff who was supportive and understanding throughout it all. A particular shoutout goes to Sultan, a CHAMPION of a barista who attended and managed the bar for almost all of my...

I make a hobby of going to different cafes and I can say without a doubt that Complimentary cafe is my favorite cafe. Everything about this place is so thoughtful and intentional- the aesthetic, decor, music, and menu items. The ambiance of the cafe is very soothing and conducive to productivity. I work from home and I have been able to get so much work done here! The small details really make the cafe for me- the compliments written on all the cups and napkins, the beautiful artwork, the guitar sitting on the side for anyone who wants to play. All their drinks are made very well and consistent. I get the Lavender vanilla latte with a little less sweetener than usual and it’s made the same every time despite different baristas. Would highly recommend the Lavender vanilla latte. It’s refreshing and a good pick me up! Their cookies are OUT OF THIS WORLD. They are so decadent and have a home made taste. Honestly better than any other cookie chains like Crumbl or Insomnia. I’ve had their spinach and feta empanada and their pizza bagel and both are so good!!! I would recommend the pizza bagel for a quick snack!! Everything on their menu is thought out and executed well. I haven’t found something I haven’t liked. All in all, if you’re looking for a cafe to study in, work, or catch up with a friend- this is the place! I’ve met the owner a few times and she is such a kind soul. She really goes out of her way to brighten other people’s day ❤️ Complimentary cafe deserves all the hype...
