Research Specialist, Cristy Lake has been helping me to research my family history for more than five years now. My GG Grandfather was Augustus Clark Kimball, one of the pioneers who homesteaded here in the 1860's. I was pleasantly surprised to see a copy of his signature on a document board displayed at Toll Gate Park which is posted along the walking trail. He married Betsy Saniwa, daughter of But-Se-Was & Mi-Ak-Ya of the Snoqualmie Tribe. They had 3 children together & are mentioned throughout the historical archives of the valley. Betsy was previously married to Robert Jesse Enos Smallman & they had a daughter together who was called Ellen Smallman Murray. All 4 of Betsy's children were born on The Snoqualmie Prairie in the Upper Snoqualmie Valley. I am very proud to state that she is my Great, Great Grandmother.

Cristy Lake is well educated & extremely knowledgeable about the Snoqualmie Valley. She has access to vast resources of information & has been involved in research of the valley as well as the state of Washington for the entirety of her life. She is the go to person for anyone who is seeking knowledge & information about the area. Cristy is available here on Monday and Tuesday afternoons.

Cristy also works afternoons at the Northwest Railway Museum at 9312 Stone Quarry Road in Snoqualmie Thursday - Sunday, where she assists those interested in pursuing their Sheldon Cooper Train Quests.

Cristy Lake is an asset to The Snoqualmie Region as well as the State of Washington. She is passionate in her pursuit of knowledge as well as kind & helpful to all those who look to her for assistance. She has my greatest respect & admiration.

Cristy & I as well as others are in agreeance of the fact that there is not enough history of the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe ever recorded. We have learned that what little has been recorded has not accurately depicted the Snoqualmie as a people.

We look to the current leaders of the Snoqualmie Tribe to amend the errors which were blatantly made by non-natives & to begin the daunting task of correcting & rewriting of the Native American history of this region providing justice to the memory of their (and...

We just moved into the area and stopped by. The museum has various displays. The history of the area is very in-depth. The guide was very knowledgeable and a wonderful story teller. Native to the area Mr. Vinnedge gave a tour of the museum and did a fantastic job keeping us engage while explaining the exhibits.

Entry is free. There is a sidewalk and parking lot. Even if you are not new to the area, stopping by for a quick history lesson is...

I wish I could of talked to him all day. The museum is very lucky to have Gardinier and Cristy Lake. Can hardly...
