The train seats are destroyed and dirty. I respect this is a vintage train but there are holes down to the stuffing in the seats. Some of the train cars are better, others mundane. The train ride is not scenic. It’s through the backyards of industry buildings, molding RVs, and some graffiti. It’s not the woodsy, snow dusted scenic route you want. That’s not controllable but something to know. You get to the museum and i thought it would be more of a Santa village. It’s really just the museum with old trains and a few Christmas declarations. It also has a distinct moldy smell that will tickle the back of your throat while you wait for Santa. The only highlight is the Santa train car. It truly is well decorated and christmas forward. The Santa is great and the pictures will be spectacular with a decent camera. The refreshment section is across the way and is the equivalent of a bus station beverage corner. Automated machines and a bunch of people milling around in a space not really designed for it. Overall for the $120 my family spent, we rated it a 3/10. If your kid loves trains they might...
Read moreI've asked for our money back. We waited over 20 minutes with a toddler for a 13 minute train ride and didn't even get to see Santa because there was no line monitoring and the yuppie adults kept saving spots for their friends. The whole experience was beyond disappointing. We drove almost 2 hours and the only thing we enjoyed was the stained glass at the top of the train car. Don't waste your money. Some things that weren't the depo's fault that sucked were the woman that would literally not shut up the entire time the conductor was trying to speak, I'm Convinced she thought she was the most important person on the train. I also forgot how lazy some people's parents are and just allow them to roam and do whatever. Apparently this event calls those types as well. Next time we will just take our daughter to see Santa locally and not bother with the 120$ lackluster train ride for the whole...
Read moreWe also were a little disappointed when we boarded the train. Yes, some seats were ripped, yes, no Christmas music onboard and yes, the Santa line was huge BUT we waited in the little play area until the line got shorter, we got the cookie and watered down choco, made some crafts, looked at the pretty trains in the museum, etc. When we finally get into the Santa train it was all worth it!!! BEST SANTA EVER! Super sweet and caring. Listened carefully to what my son wanted to tell him (I’m sure he already listened to a thousand other kids!, poor guy). I’m not sure if the people working here are paid or volunteers but they were all incredibly kind and sweet (hard to find these type of people in seattle anymore! Even when they get paid). Overall great experience for my child! Advise: try to get in the front 2 cars, those...
