UPDATE TO OWNERS RESPONSE: I wasn’t shopping for a better price. If I were one who shops for the best price, I would have never done business with Fisher’s in the first place. It’s no secret that Fisher’s prices are high. I shopped at Fisher’s to be loyal to a locally owned business that both my wife and I have personal connections to.
I was shopping for a place that wouldn’t stick me with the parts if they didn’t fix my issue or if it turned out I didn’t need both parts. As it turned out I only needed a switch so I returned the motor to Greatfurnituredeal.com for a full refund. I would’ve gladly paid Fisher’s asking price if the parts had been returnable. Fisher’s policy on parts makes it very clear they only want to sell new product and have no interest in offering customer service to even their most loyal of customers.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Let me begin by establishing our connection to Fisher Home Furnishings: my wife grew up with the owner of the store and I went to high school with one of their salesmen with whom we’ve always done our business. For close to 30 years, every piece of furniture and all the flooring and appliances for a home we built we purchased from this store.
Presently we have a Flexsteel sofa that’s roughly eight years old, but still looks brand new. It has motorized recliners on each side of the sofa. The motor and switch have stopped working on one side of the sofa. They quoted me $300 for the motor, $150 for the switch and $119 per hour to install the new parts. Also, they told me the parts would be mine and I couldn’t return them even if they didn’t fix our issue. Additionally, I was told it would take more than two weeks to get the parts in and several more weeks for their repairman to be able to install the parts since he only comes in once a month.
Accordingly, I contacted Great Furniture Deal in Riverton. They had the parts in stock and the shipping would be free and they could have the parts to me overnight. Their price on the motor was $170 and their price on the switch was $36. Furthermore, the parts are returnable in the event they don’t fix nor solve our issue.
I’ve always been one who likes to support our local Cache Valley businesses. However, my loyalty only goes so far. If a business only wants to sell me new product and backs it with zero customer service, I will take my business elsewhere.
I won’t be doing any more business with Fisher Home Furnishings. You can make your own decision. Fishers’s has some extremely nice stuff. Just be aware, it isn’t backed by any customer service other than whatever initial warranty comes with the product(s)...
Read moreDisappointing, found a couch set that we liked. Are sales person was Jason the account manager, he was friendly and knowledgeable but fell short regarding communication. We shared with him our timming needed on this couch and every week I called he said it was delayed. Hey, I get it. The problem I have is the poor communication and follow-up. Every week I called he said they would have it the next week until I called the next week and then he would say it was delayed another week. Honestly don't waist your time with this local small business, we went don't to furniture row in draper and found a better couch for about around the same price and will be delivered in 4 days.
My advice for any sales person is, identify your customer, identify what they need, identify why they need it, and identify how you as a salesperson can best help deliver on the customer experience. Jason fell short on this, if you can't deliver on some basic expectations, just let the customer know. I was mislead when in the show room and he said that he could have delivered in 7- 10 days, the next week I called he said that he didn't have the two sofas. Maybe since he is the account manager he has to much on his plate. A sales person is a hard job, Jason was friendly and knowledgeable but fell short of expectations on the close and simple communication. Trucks get delayed, but it would have been great if he reached out to me so I could make a change of plans instead of me having to call him every Friday at the end of the week to then tell me the delivery was delayed again from California.
Anyway if your looking for furniture, check out furniture row, more variety, better prices, better in-stock and more flexibility. (Furntiture row in salt lake is 5 or 6 large furniture stores all on...
Read moreI went to your store, I was ignored by your sales people. They were sitting on the couches. I kept walking infront of them and no one asked me if I needed help. I finally interrupted their social hour and asked if they could help me. I got held off again because of a phone call they had to take while I was waiting infront of them, their mother I remember hearing them talking. Finally I showed them the special order Bassett sectional I wanted, they figured out how to order it. They took my money and told me they would call me. I should not have bought the couch here. Anyway, it was on order. No updates no communication. I had to call after 6 weeks and then they told me the vendor did not respond and they would call me back. Never received a phone call, I had to call them back to figure out what was going on. Finally, I got my sectional. Parker was not helpful and the other person handling the phone also was not very professional. I do have to say the delivery team from your store was fantastic. They should be the sales team. Disgusted with your store and I will travel out of Logan to buy any other furniture for my home....
