It seems really fun from the road. Rating on 1-5 Scale Course Condition: 3 – A few seams in the astroturf were pulled up, and places where people would walk on the lava rock or hit the ball out of the rock and caused lava rock to get all over course. The plane and helicopter which are the main draw of the course you don’t actually get that close to. You play around the base of the mountain that it’s sitting on. The service was friendly. Difficulty: 2 – It was a weird green that seemed either too fast or too slow. Many of our balls rimmed the hole without going in. Cost/Value: 3 - 13.50 per round. They offer a military discount. They offer the 2nd round at half cost which was $6. But this is a little higher than average for the area. Fun: 2 – No interactive components or moving items. There was no theme for the course itself. You didn’t play through the plane or have any interaction with it. There was no music in the park, no radio messaging the plane, or wreckage debris from the “plane crash”, nothing that carried the theme throughout the course. You see the plane and helicopter from the road, and that is the extent of the Mayday theme. You could easily remove the plane and helicopter and insert dinosaurs or pirate ships. Overall: 2 – This was one of the highest rated minigolf courses in the area, but not by us. With so much competition, they really need to step up their game on theme and pricing to rank...
Read moreWent here to play some put put golf with my family. The marquee sign has "open 10 am-10 pm". Arrived at 8:17 and was told they were closing soon and they were trying to shut the entrance gate. Paid 55 dollars. Made it to hole 12 when we were tracked down by the 2 young employees who proceeded to tell us they were closing soon, this was at (9 pm). At this point a car with 4 adults were turned away. We watched them arrive and leave a few minutes later. We played the last 6 holes under there repetitive watching, to the point I asked their hours. The employee stated that their manager said if no one is there they can close at 9pm. So now we are nobody's! We were done at 930, and promptly the lights on the course went out. Called this business this morning to complain obviously, and apparently the manager isn't there at 10:30 on Wednesday morning. The only reason this place even gets 2 stars is because my kids enjoyed the course. It may just be me, but it just seems like poor management. Either change your sign and hours or employ people who...
Read moreFun times. Kids loved walking around the real aircraft. Very crowded and a wait at each hole...but what do you expect at Myrtle Beach in summer. It's not like you have anything else to do other than eat Calabash seafood and buy a raft from wings. I gave it four stars.
Two downsides: 1.) No Alcohol: Unfortunately you cannot purchase alcohol to drink while playing. Sometimes it's nice to have an adult beverage while playing a round of Mini-Golf. Molten Mountain up the road does sell beer/wine, and if it's raining outside, there is an entire indoor course as well.
2.) Small club charge: my daughter just turned four. She does not really play mini golf. They had a basket of free plastic putters....you know the kind that you buy at Walmart for a two-year-old. well it's free to use those, but of course my daughter wanted to have a putter like all the bigger kids. So I had to pay 8 bucks just for her to hold on to...
