Stopped in at 12:30 pm to pick up wings for the family from the deli. There were none. ALL of the wings were gone. When I asked one of the deli employee's if she had more coming out, she informed me she didn't know they were out and it would take at least 15 minutes to replenish. I didn't have time to wait so I filled up 3 containers with mac & cheese, ribs, chicken nuggets, etc.
Fifty dollars later I get home to find out the ribs were so over cooked and dried out we ended up throwing them away. At $9.00 per pound, and a full container, that was a BIG waste of money. At least the mac & cheese was good. My Food Lion in Charlotte has excellent wings on the hot-bar, maintain it correctly, and don't allow it to run out.
My parents live at N.Myrtle and have always shopped at the Kroger a couple blocks away. I had been trying to get them to switch to Food Lion and was bragging about the wings on the hot-bar to entice them to shop there. Instead of eating wings, I ended up eating a crow sandwich, and they were NOT impressed with the Food...
Read morethis was my go-to store and honestly every other time my family or I have gone the customer service has been amazing. today was below par. when something rang up different then the advertised price instead of listening to the customer's questions as to why and why the customer thought it was incorrect they just pointed at the screen and said "well it took _ off". I would have understood if the item was incorrectly marked on the floor and gladly gone back and selected a different one if that were the case (it wasn't) or just paid the difference or selected less had anything been explained. I also fully understand maybe not knowing or also being confused but perhaps then it is time to call for help or backup instead of pointing at the screen.
the manager was great and it was a register error but i really don't think an already upset customer should have to make a second trip just to get something sorted or even get communication...
Read moreI've been shopping in Food Lion for over 30 years in different states/locations. The best one I have ever been to is in Oxford, NC. They wrote the book on what a great grocery store should be. This one is a very close second. Something happened to Food Lion about 20 yrs ago. Not sure who is responsible but has made the difference for me. They have no equal in the produce dept. Love the store layout, very well stocked, incredibly helpful staff and you don't have to dodge anyone putting together internet orders (Walmart fails here). They also have the same "drill team" at checkout that another popular store deploys during peak hours. You won't wait in line. I live walking distance from three grocery stores. The only time I don't go here is when I have a recipe for something only on the international foods isle at...Pu...the other place. The only strike is the hot wing bar. Even though that's not what I go for someone needs...
