I've given myself a week to cool down. This is usually our go-to chain for the first day in a new area. This time was a mistake. First, I should have followed my gut when I saw it was all but empty inside (2 tables seated). Destiny was our server and was OK. I think she was new. We ordered a spinach & mushroom omelet and paid to upgrade our pancakes to our favorite - blueberry protein pancakes with lemon ricotta and berries on top. Due to the hour (8:25pm), we opted to share the large meal. The meal was dropped off by the manager. When we asked for another plate for sharing purposes, we were given a small side plate. OK, you might think that's petty ... Next, the pancakes had ZERO blueberries. The other toppings looked as they should. After finally getting D's attention and pointing this out, she swept them away and said she'd have them remade. The heavy-set male manager rudely & loudly proclaimed, from in front of the kitchen window, "I NEVER put blueberries in those pancakes!" The next batch had 4 blueberries in each, fruit juice splashed on top, a little squiggle of ricotta, and they were BUTTERMILK pancakes. I asked D to bring me a menu and the manager, which she did. I opened the menu to the picture of the pancakes and showed the manager saying, "This is what I ordered, and NOT what I received either time." He proceeded to tell me that they ARE protein and that he's not a cook, so he doesn't really know if they should have blueberries inside." After blatantly calling me, and my eyes, and my palate, and my brain, stupid, I gave up and dismissed him. He knew he was lying. I know the difference, even if HE doesn't. Not only do they not look the same, but they don't taste the same!! When D brought our bill, there were 3 soda/tea charges on it. There were two of us, and we only had water. So, not only was there no price adjustment for their errors, but they tried to get us to pay 3 x $2.99 for something we did not have. D should have looked at our bill before dropping it off. We won't be back, and that nasty manager should be fired. REGRETFULLY I don't have any pictures as I didn't have my phone. If you go there, order those pancakes and post...
Read moreOur party of five was seated very quickly in a restaurant that appeared about 3/4 full on a Sunday morning. Our server came over and quickly got our drink orders and came back with everyone's teas and a mug for my father's coffee, and said that she'd be back with the decaf coffee for him. She took our food orders, and that was the last we saw of her for about 40 minutes. My dad's coffee mug sat there empty, she never came back to say anything about such an abnormally long wait. It wasn't like the place was packed. Eventually my father asked about the wait and we were told that it was because of a large number of to-go orders that came in at the same time. Why that would have anything to do with our waitress never coming back with my father's coffee, or to see how we're doing or say anything about the wait is beyond me. Eventually our food came. I was a bit confused as to my dish that I could've sworn was a sandwich, but it had been so long since we ordered that I chalked it up to me not remembering correctly. I had ordered the "Nasvhille Hot Chicken", which, again, I thought upon receiving it was a sandwich but when it was just chicken tenders on a plate with the sauce and fries, I thought maybe I was mistaken. Nope. I just got home and it was bothering me, so I pulled up the menu and sure enough, my dish WAS a sandwich that was supposed to come with multiple cheeses. What I got was three or four chicken tenders on a plate with fries. I'm sorry but some to-go orders come in and that explains my order being completely wrong, my father not getting coffee for 40+ minutes, and our waitress disappearing and not checking on us when the place was barely half full? Yep, that'll be my last time coming here. There's too many local mom n' pop breakfast places around here that have better food and service for us...
Read moreLet me preface this review stating me a my two Grandson's, 9 &12 years old, visited Myrtle Beach, SC for 3 nights. We chose IHOP on Rte. 17-north for our final day breakfast about 10:00am on Thursday. We do IHOP wherever we travel and some have been good, a couple not so good. But...this was absolutely the best IHOP restaurant that I personally have dined at. The parking lot looked full as we entered. However, parking was available and the outside was clean and inviting. We entered expecting a wait. NOT ! We're seated immediately by an energetic young man with a welcoming smile. He seated us and said "Keira" would be with us shortly. She came, greeted us with a super welcoming smile, introduced herself and took our drink order. The drinks were back to us within minutes! She took our order. I went to the men's room. It was immaculate! Kudos for that! I should have expected that but now I'm noticing that the rest of the restaurant is just as clean...no debris on the floor, windows clean employees were uniformly dressed. When our food arrived, it was hot and perfectly cooked, blueberry pancakes, strawberry cheesecake waffles, eggs and crispy bacon. Keira checked on us a couple times during our meal. My oldest grandson even commented..."This IHOP"is on point !" I had to agree. The 3 of thoroughly enjoyed our meal as well as the excellent service, and I do mean EXCELLENT! I asked for the manager as we were leaving to Thank him/her for our great visit. Come to find out, Keira was the manager ! I spoke with her briefly to extend additional "Thanks". She said she appreciated the positive feedback. I will definitely go back and I strongly recommend to try this...
