This is the first time I have ever reviewed a restaurant, but please do not eat at Mr. Crab. I arrived with a friend around 8:30 p.m. When we walked in, no one greeted us upon entering. We stood waiting to be acknowledged while the staff walked past without a word. Finally a woman took our name for a 10 min wait. When our table was ready we returned and were seated right by the register (an important detail because we witnessed practically every customer who came up to pay have an issue). We ordered our drinks and food at the same time because at that point we had already waited that long for a server to come. Thankfully the drinks came out quick enough. I ordered a seafood boil combo with headless shrimp and was asked if I wanted half a pound or one pound of shrimp. Not realizing half a pound was an option I said I'd take the half pound combo. My friend ordered a boil combo and asked for potatoes, corn, and a boiled egg. The server told her that the boil combo came with potatoes and corn. So great the order was in... Except we waited for well over an hour. During this hour our server did not come over to the table even once. In fact we didn't even see her. At some points, there were up to 4 employees behind the bar either on their phones or doing nothing, but they would magically disappear when people came up to the register. Staff on the floor would walk past without acknowledging customers waiting to pay or be seated. We witnessed one person from a birthday party group come up to complain about how they had staggered the food from the kitchen so long for their party that some people still hadn't received their food. That group had already been seated by the time we had first walked in at least 40 mins ago at that point. We also witnessed another person come up to ask about a group surcharge to which an employee walked toward the front and ripped a piece of paper off of the wall that outlined the policy and stuck it in her face to explain the charge. We witnessed so many people standing around waiting to be helped while one kid sat behind a register with an earbud in looking at something on his phone. Finally (again after an hour) I caught sight of our server and flagged her down to ask if the food was coming any time soon. She responded that she would go check on it. Then just a couple minutes later she came out with the food. Except neither of our plates were what we expected. Instead of a shrimp combo I was given a boil bag filled with only shrimp. I asked why my dish hadn't come with potatoes and corn like the menu said (and like my friend had been told). The server that the half pound of shrimp didn't come with that. Well that would have been nice to know... At first my friend's food appeared fine but after dumping it out onto her plate the boiled egg she had ordered wasn't there. Except again our server had disappeared by then and we couldn't find her to ask. So we ate our food while witnessing even more people come to the register with issues and a wait to be acknowledged. After finishing my food I kept a look out for our server, who again we didn't see once in the 20 mins that had passed while eating. Finally as my friend was just about done I caught our server and mentioned my friend's egg hadn't been included and asked that it be taken off the bill. At this point I was fed up with this place. I had waited over an hour for exactly 11 shrimp that I was never told wouldn't qualify for the combo I had ordered, the staff were inattentive, rude, and dismissive, and I wasn't the only customer who seemed upset. When we got the bill we were told to pay at the register which by then had a couple people around it. We stood in a line waiting to be helped while the same kid with the headphones seemed to have stopped talking to another customer. A door dasher told us she'd been waiting 30 mins for food she was told was done. Finally after 5 mins of him doing nothing but sitting there I asked if I could pay or if he was still helping the other customer. I paid and did not tip. Do not come here, they don't...
Read moreThis was the single worst experience that I have ever had in a restaurant... I dined at this restaurant on July 5th, 2025. I am giving the review one star for the food, which was quite savory and came out hot despite the hour and forty-five minute wait. My table ordered a medley of different foods from soup, fried foods and crab boil. All of which was delicious, however the service level and wait time eclipses any positive comments I could make about the establishment. I arrived in a party of 11 for my son's birthday dinner with my family. There was some protest about the restaurant choice; however after talking with the hostess, who was actually quite pleasant, I convinced my family to stay- an urgence I came to deeply regret. We were given a 25 minute wait for seating. Our party had several children, but we waited patiently and were sat promptly. We were sat at the same time as another large party and the expectation was set that there may be a longer wait. However, as minutes rolled into hours our table was routinely passed over and denied service. The drinks were not refilled and there was no communication about our order. Once we hit the hour mark, I asked for an update and was given an extremely dismissive excuse about the kitchen. The party who had arrived at the same time had already received their food about 15 minutes prior. As time continued to go by and table after table served, we remained ignored and underserviced. We were told our food would be out in about 10-15 minutes. After 15 minutes and still no food, I asked for an update and the waitress became extremely disrespectful and avoidant of our table. After gaslighting me about our experience, (saying she had been to our table when she actually hadn't) the food started to come out... painfully slow. One item at a time. Two crab boils came out and my family wanted to wait for everyone else's food but after about 10 minutes only a basket of hushpuppies had come to the table. The kids' food came out almost last, about 25 minutes after the first food came to the table. My family was too exhausted and frustrated to leave, so we waited. Our appetite had all but left by the time all our food, except the soup had arrived. The soup took another 15 minutes into the meal. We sat down at 10 minites to 8pm and received the last food items at 10:10pm. The waitress was disgusting to us for the rest of the evening. She refused to speak or make eye contact with us when we checked out at full price with no apologies or compensation. Only the hostess attempted to apologize and admitted that our treatment was egregious. I hope people will read this review and avoid this restaurant. Mr. Crab recently lost their liquor license and based on the amount of unprofessional behavior we experienced, they should be put out of business to address their staffing and service issues. At no point was I able to speak with management but I will update this...
Read moreI wanted to address the owner”s response… I ordered two of what was supposed to be kids meal catfish baskets. One order was correct (catfish that looked like catfish) but the other was chicken strips which it also incorrectly stated on the order itself, which is why I returned. (I feel the need to also point out that staff was eating at a table behind the register when I arrived, came to the register licking fingers (and didn’t bother to wash any hands prior to taking my credit card..you can check the tape to see I’m not exaggerating). Back to my incorrect order and how it was “resolved.” The manager returned with a replacement order, which looked entirely different than the first catfish basket; it simply did not look like catfish. The explanation was that it was a different batch or that it was flounder (which they have substituted in the past without notification that was acceptable). To resolve the issue, management cut up the “fish” to show me it was indeed “fish,” then took the remainder of the “fish” back to the kitchen and recooked the same “fish.”(Below pic is what was returned to me after “recooking).” My expectation would have been to redo the order, not recook what I returned! And I did not ask for ANYTHING for free, I asked what you could due in addition, due to the inconveniences since I ordered catfish when I initially placed the order but was erroneously given chicken strips and returned again due to what was provided NOT looking like catfish. And by the way, this isn’t the first time I ordered catfish from Mr. Crab, it’s probably the 12th, so both I and the kids know what catfish is supposed to look like…but it will definitely be my last due to how this was handled…And side note, yes it was for my kids under the age of 10, who were still hungry and not expecting catfish that looked like chicken...
