This is my first experience with 1800 guns and ammo. I been following there social medial account for the longest time I just never had time or a need to visit the store. The pictures looked really nice online so it was booked marked as a one day I'll eventually get to it.
Fast forward a few years later. I currently work for the military and get moved around a lot. Another local DFW gun shop advertised the new HK SP5 I could get on pre-order with a promise I'll get it by February. I went with that because it has already been 3-4 days after HK announced it. After taxes it came out to be 2990ish.
A week after this. I see 1800 guns and ammo's post about the SP5 and the price was way below MSRP and beating the 2990 the other local gun shop was selling. Like 400ish dollars cheaper! On top of that it was 1 in stock so I called them so quick!
I spoke with Eric on the phone and hashed out the detailed and he was able to take my order over the phone since they haven't put it up on the website. Of course with a charge this high my bank kept kicking it back but we couldn't figure out why. Eric worked with me for over and hour with my bank so we could narrow down the issue. Turned out the bank changed my address to my military one and after a quick change it processed through. It was super awesome that Eric went above and beyond staying on the phone with my bank and I to make sure I didn't lose my change at my dream gun.
They held my purchase until I came in a few days before Christmas. I was super excited and I have never visited the store but it was nice to see the store finally at it's new location. I liked the old one only because it was closer to my home. However this new one is big with the added range. I also saw some rooms for classroom training.
The location had a good amount of accessories but I am an optics guy and I usually check out this section to get a good feel of the store. It was unimpressive with the few brands they carried. Nikons are what stuck out the most to me but they did have a few Vortex. I think I really would like to see some higher end stuff like Nightforce or Schmidt and Bender. I think that would make them stand out more.
I was greeted by Jose who worked with getting my order together and he was also awesome. Former Army guy and mention for future purchases they give discounts to military members. He advised how lucky I was. After my purchase, there were numerous inquires for the SP5.
I felt lucky but I also respect a gun store that is not price gouging a high demand product. It's straight to the consumer at fair price. I don't think you can beat that with any local store around. This alone makes me want to be a repeat customer.
I look forward to watching this store grow and hope to come back when they have products...
Read moreThis place is a gem and must be checked out! I find that pricing on their weapons are cheaper than other stores and that 5% discount for service members on top of that is great.
I went to this location 3 times in 2 days. Here’s my experience.
My sales rep the first time was David. Sweet gentleman, who was happy to get all sorts of firearms for me to hold and test out the trigger. I went in for ammos and accessories and ended up picking up a shotgun. (At the time I had no idea that I made a buyer error)
I went back after dinner and was met by Andrew and Anthony V. These 2 gentlemen are definitely expert shooters who have a lot of knowledge in both competitions and defensive firearms applications. They gave me their expertise and tips on reload powers ect ect. I ended up getting the mpx pcc and I’m very satisfied with the purchase. Thanks Anthony!
When I got home and after some research on my a300 ultima on ways to turn it into a ultima patrol. However I quickly realized that this shotgun can not add an extension mag so it’s fixed to a 4 shell capacity due to its different gas system.. My heart dropped. I always do a lot of research on any firearms I get… but up to this point normally same series name same internals just different furnitures. Right? Naw not for shotguns! After realizing that the Ultima is a tool that I’d never use. I accepted the fact that I was goina lose more than half of what I paid for even without shooting it.
Went back to the store the next day and luckily Anthony was working. Told him and management the situation I was in. They was very understanding and professional..helped me out. I didn’t lose too much $ like I expected. Sold it back to them, and picked up the Ultima patrol. And couldn’t be happier! This is definitely now my go to for firearms and soon competition events!
Thank you Anthony, Andrew, for the...
Read moregritr sports is absolutely THE WORST company to deal with. I purchased a GSG 110 round 22lr drum and it simply DOES NOT FUNCTION as described. I tried using the drum on 3 different Ruger 10/22's and it would not eject the brass, may fire once and again would not eject the brass. I called customer service several times trying to find out why I was having this problem and how to resolve this issue. Sometimes someone would answer and most of the time I would get voicemail. (not once did they return my call). I was informed to contact the manufacture (made in Germany). I called back again and they transferred me to an employee in the store. He told me that these drums have a notorious reputation with feeding and jamming. They have always had this problem and continue to experience this problem. Why would a company continue to sell this product if it has problems and the employee are aware of the problem and will tell you of the problems. This has been the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with in 45 years. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST. Maybe that's why they're not listed with the BBB. I can only hope that potential customers will read this review and shop elsewhere. I have to wonder sometimes who really writes some of their reviews. There are many successful businesses that offer the same services as this company without the HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Save yourself the time and aggravation and shop elsewhere. I wouldn't give this company the...
