Was excited to reserve my son’s 6th Birthday party with Funtopia. Went online and was able to book 11:00am time slot and received email confirmation promptly there after. The following day I got a phone call from staff reviewing my order and then confirmed a 10:30am start time. I explained that online the time slot said 11am and forwarded my email confirmation stating 11am. They apologized and said 11am it is. Upon arrival I noticed three tables set up in the instruction and harness “closet”They walked us into the room which could barely fit the three tables they had set up.and expected 10 kids and At least 5 parents to fit inside. If you have been to Funtopia or toured via the video online they advertise a large upstairs area designated for birthday parties. That is not what we received at all! Almost $300 and we were made to squeeze into a closet that is normally used to view the 5 min video and get sized for harnesses. We were given no explanation of why we were not upstairs in the actual rooms utilized and advertised for reserved parties. I’m assuming they over booked, however that is something that should have been communicated and avoided.I asked to speak to a manager but was only confronted by multiple teen staff members that offered no resolution but assured me that the manager was at a different location that day and would call me the following day. No phone call! I called back every day following to speak to a manager and was still not given an apology or explanation. I was then told that the GM and or owner would follow up. Almost 2 weeks later I received an email from Geovanny the “general manager” asking when was a good time to call and follow up.I emailed back stating anytime. Days later no phone call. Emailed again to follow up.... Still never recieved a phone call. DO NOT BOOK PARTIES here! Great concept and fun for kids but the Birthday package is a rip off and they false advertise the upstairs area but do not explain that you may get placed in the instructional room if they choose to and you still will pay the same amount as the upstairs reserved rooms. Completely unprofessional and bad...
Read moreAs a Regional Director for the Nation's Leader in Before and After School Programs, I am constantly and consistently under the spotlight and scrutiny of ensuring Highly-Engaged, Non-Negotiable Safe, and absolutely FUN curriculum and programs with thousands of Children that Parents and School Clients expect from us every time and with every child. Now as a parent of 2 kiddos myself, I share the same level of cautious, high-standard, and optimistic approach with every business or event my own 7 year-old daughter and 6 year-old son attend or participate in. I have been taking them to Funtopia for nearly a year -- religiously every week. There are 15 other places (actual number) I take them to, but when asked where do THEY want to go, Funtopia is always top in mind. And, most recently (this week), the question was posed to them on where they want to hold their bday party (they are 11 months apart in age and 4 days apart in birthdays). Without hesitation, they responded with Funtopia. So I scheduled the highest-amenity package and our expectations were far exceeded. This place is CONSISTENT. It is Clean, Careful, Responsive, and Engaging. Our Host, Nick Willis, did nothing short of an AMAZING JOB making our Party FANTASTIC! I made it a personal mission to acknowledge his Responsiveness and Attention to our Party with his Supervisor following the Party. I also would like to call out Russell from the Main Floor. He is ALWAYS there and knows my kids by their first name. Even when there are dozens of children screaming in pure bliss and joy, he maintains his composure and ensures he responds to every child and in an engaging fashion. He always checks in with my kids to make sure they're ok. I know this business gets some High-Profile People (Parents) that never revel who they are. Well, as the Regional Director for the Nation's Leader in BASP, I LOVE THIS PLACE and have and will continue to recommend it to the dozens of Clients/Parents/Employees I interact with daily. Thanks to people like Nick and Russell -- and the entire Cast and Crew of this location. AMAZING WORK! 5 Star Indeed!!! ...
Read moreMy son loves coming here to climb, but this was the first time we came as a birthday party guest. The staff seemed overwhelmed and rude at every bend. Every aspect of this establishment needs a complete overhaul, starting with the management. Upon entering through the doors, it’s quite clear that the rugs by the counter have not been vacuumed for a really long time. The smell in the cave system was a deplorable combination of feet, sweat and dust. The bathrooms on the party room floor were completely out of service and there was a pungent smell of raw sewage as we were leaving. It’s difficult for me to believe that there weren’t numerous health and safety violations from that alone, but wait.. there’s more.. the family bathroom on the main floor had a non-working kids toilet and a missing faucet handle on one of the sinks. We were a party of 11 children and 11 adults and the quality of the service and food was far beyond sub standard . Not only was the pizza undercooked and tasteless, the chicken wings were pink and slimy. This is unacceptable, it’s dangerous, and could seriously put someone’s health at risk. We asked for ranch dressing, and without hesitation, we were given a used bottle of ranch that looked like it had been passed around from party to party. These children, who are employed here, have clearly not been properly trained on food safety and cross-contamination. When we complained, the host acted as if she was doing us a favor. When we proceeded to involve the manager, she offered us excuses along with $60 discount from our $700 bill. She also made sure that we understood , that the party host is the one responsible for preparing the food.. what??? Why?? My friend had us all leave and go to a different restaurant since we and the children were all...
