Restaurant Review: 5 Stars
My husband and I recently dined at a fantastic sushi restaurant in Chicago, and I can’t recommend it enough! As someone who doesn’t eat seafood, I usually feel left out when my husband enjoys his sushi. I’ve called around to at least five sushi places asking if they could accommodate my unique request for what I call a “KFC Sushi Roll” (chicken tempura, avocado, and cucumber), only to be told to bring outside food if I can’t eat fish. But this restaurant was different.
From the moment I explained what I was looking for, they went above and beyond to cater to my needs. Instead of making me feel out of place, they created my custom roll without hesitation, ensuring I could have the full sushi experience with my husband. The attention to detail and willingness to accommodate my dietary needs truly set them apart. My KFC Roll was delicious, perfectly crafted, and made me feel like I was genuinely part of the sushi dining experience for the first time.
The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was inviting and warm. It’s a clean, family-friendly restaurant where we felt right at home. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! This was our first sushi spot in Chicago, and it definitely won’t be our last visit. I highly recommend this place to anyone with unique tastes or dietary needs, especially if you want to enjoy a meal alongside seafood-loving family or friends.
A big thank you to the team for making our evening memorable. Five stars all the...
Read moreExcellent service when we walked in. Place is very clean too. I ordered Pad Thai prepared with chicken. My dish was outstanding; seasoned well, fresh spices and presentation was nice. Ordered a side of peanut sauce, delicious!!!! Highly recommend. My husband ordered chicken satay as an appetizer, This was also very good with a small cucumber salad. Again, very refreshing especially on a hot day. What ruined our entire experience is unfortunately the sushi. He ordered A Maki Roll: Futo. The rice was overdone very sticky and the seaweed wrap paper was chewy and rubbery. We couldn’t even eat, actually had to spit out bites we took. When our server asked us about meal, we praised the first two items but stated how we couldn’t eat the sushi. The response was “I will tell the supplier”. That’s it. Didn’t offer to adjust bill or apologize. Very disappointing!!!! We would have definitely come back to try other items. This is not how you make good on a valid complaint when brought to your attention. The issue raised is between you and your supplier, not at the customer’s...
Read moreApparently the restaurant closed for a bit and reopened with a new menu including Japanese food. Since my family enjoys eating Japanese food and the Glen is close by, we decided to try it out. I'm glad we did because the food was really delicious. I went with my aunt and little sister. Between us we ordered a couple rolls (spicy salmon maki and sunset are the ones pictured), salmon teriyaki, and sea bass sashimi with yuzu and jalapeno.
The salmon teriyaki was really tender, but I think the sunset roll was my personal favorite (I'm a fan of eel). Their butterfly pea lemonade is cool too and turns from blue to purple, which they do in front of you. For dessert we had a green tea brownie which was absolutely amazing. It's a bit expensive, but considering the location in the Glen, it's not any more so than the other options around there. If you're around the area, I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. My family is...
