We used this Jos. A Banks for our wedding to rent tuxes for our groomsmen and fathers. Then, my now husband, also bought 2 suits to be used for our shower and rehearsal dinner. When we went to pick up the suits the day before the shower, the suits had 2 different pant sizes, and one did not fit! They insisted it was the same pair he tried on the week before, but why on earth would the sales associate have pulled 2 different pant sizes for the same person (they were both the same suit, just different colors). Also, when he tried them on originally, they both fit. Thankfully they had the correct pair in stock, they hemmed them and we were on our way. Honestly, that should have been a warning sign.
For the wedding and tuxes, half the group was measured and ordered here, the other half did theirs out of state. All 4 of the tuxes measured here did NOT fit at all come pickup time. These problems were not just a quick fix, but a variety of issues: pants were too long, dress shirt was too tight around the neck and could barely be buttoned, a broken button on a dress shirt, a dress shirt with sleeves too short, tuxedo sleeves too long on one tux, and then too short on another one, and my husband could barely button his tux jacket shut, it pulled and looked tight and ridiculous. Not exactly what you want to be dealing with right before your wedding.
I, the bride, called to let them know that none of the tuxes fit, and the manager apologized that “expectations were not properly communicated with us, and that alterations and things not fitting were NORMAL.” He did not apologize for all the errors, but that someone should have told us this. I find this attitude unacceptable, unprofessional, and completely lacking accountability (again!). One or even two alteration needed, fine. But 4 different tuxes with a slew of errors? Not okay, and not normal. They have all stood up in weddings before, and never had an experience like this where nothing fits after being measured. On top of that, none of the men who rented out of state at different stores had any issues, so this is clearly a this store problem. We chose Jos. A Banks because we thought it would be higher quality and a better experience than something like Mens Warehouse, but boy were we wrong!
Instead of just picking up, we were back and forth FOUR times. Again, not what we wanted to be doing the week of wedding (Which by the way is when suits came in- some reason they were early and they let us pick up. Can you imagine if they arrived the correct time just DAYS before the wedding??)
Unfortunately, working with the associates there after their mistakes was not pleasant either. I cannot tell you how many times I heard multiple male workers say "Don't worry, we've been doing this for longer than you've probably been alive!" (Over 30 years)Which honestly is just embarrassing because if everyone has been doing this for so long, why the absolute incompetence? Shouldn't your staff be capable of doing their jobs properly? That's honestly not something I would be bragging about. In addition, their new younger staff is also not properly trained, as they put my husband in his dads suit first, then my brothers, by mistake- further having us freak out that it fit even worse.
Worst of all, they argued with us that my husbands jacket DID fit, even though it could barely button. They insisted that "the new trend is slim fitting suits, and if we go a size bigger he's going to look 30 years older" I told them don't care, you need to order the next size up, and keep the original jacket in case they were right and it is too big. They said of course they will keep it, it's going to be the one we want. On our final pickup day, he tries the larger size and it fits! And good thing because what was NOT in the bag anymore? The original. Not sure what they were planning on doing if they were right (for once)?
Now that the wedding is over I will NEVER use them again for anything. Save yourself the stress and go...
Read moreI got off the phone with someone at the store not too long ago and I was asking if they had a certain suit in stock which I had found online. I initially asked if they had it in 38R (although I was planning on trying on a 39R or 40R if they had them in stock since it's been a while since my last fitting). He said they didn't have it so I asked if they had this suit in other sizes, and I was about to explain my plan to try those other sizes when he cut me off and said, "It shouldn't matter if we have other sizes because your size is a 38R." I told him I wasn't sure if my exact size was a 38R anymore and was about to explain myself when he cut me off AGAIN and said, "I strongly suggest you come in to try them on if you're looking for a different size." Well I only would've gone in if they had the sizes for this particular suit in stock so I wouldn't waste my time, but he didn't let me explain that because he yet AGAIN cut me off by giving me their store hours and not letting me talk at all. I was extremely frustrated at this point but didn't want to be as rude as he was, so I just said "okay." I began to ask about another suit I was interested in, but I guess he was done with the conversation because, surprise surprise, he hung up on me.

Read moreHEADS UP GENTS AND LADIES! Honestly, this is the worst Jos. A. Bank I have ever been to. I initially stopped in to shop for a new blazer and two pairs of dress slacks. First, there was no welcoming greeting nor acknowledgement that I entered the store and there were NO associates around to assist me. Eventually, I got tired of waiting around with no help and had to shout aloud, “Does anyone work here?!” to finally receive someone’s attention. It sure got the attention of someone and so I then had to try on at least a dozen blazers to find the right fit. This process took way longer than I ever anticipated about one hour. Apparently the associate did not know his measurements very well because he kept giving me the wrong size. After, we had to try on multiple dress slacks which also took an extra hour. It was upsurd of the amount of time this process took. At that point I was so tired and just wanted to get the hell out of there! Customer Service here is horrible!
