I brought my Yorkshire Terrier here for grooming and was met with some of the most condescending customer service I’ve ever encountered. When I arrived, I was asked for veterinary records, something I was not told over the phone when scheduling the appointment. While I was opening my purse to search for them, I was told to move aside. Not even five seconds to look. Then, once I admitted I didn’t have them on me, they told me it was fine and to proceed. So what was the point of the attitude and the request in the first place?
Next, they dramatically exaggerated my dog’s condition. Yes, she had matting on her back legs, and that’s exactly why I brought her in. But they acted like it was an extreme case, saying she was “severely matted” and claiming her face would need to be shaved. Her face, front legs, and torso were completely fine. I’ve owned dogs for years, I know what matting looks like. The way they spoke to me felt judgmental and unnecessarily dramatic, like they were trying to shame me instead of help.
Less than 10 minutes after leaving, I get a call to come back because “their blades couldn’t get through her fur.” When I arrived, my dog was half-shaved; a strip down her back, part of one leg done, the rest untouched. She was visibly irritated and uncomfortable. They told me to take her to a vet to be shaved, suggesting she might even need to be put under anesthesia. Are you serious? For a few tangles on her back legs?
The most frustrating part is that I immediately booked with another groomer in the area, and they had zero issues. At this point, I was nervous, and asked if they groomed dogs with matting, and they were surprised that I'd even asked. In fact, they were shocked by what happened and said my dog’s matting was minor. Their exact words were, "I've never heard anything like that before, I hear the craziest things in this business." They were able to do a full groom with no complaints, no drama, and certainly no shaming.
So if your dog is in perfect condition or barely needs any work done, maybe this place will work for you. But if not, or if you look like me, expect to be judged, dismissed, and sent away with a half-groomed,...
Read moreFirst of all, it literally took me weeks to write this review. I absolutely hate giving bad reviews, but as an advocate for animals and a dog mom, I just feel other dog parents needs to know this. First of all the staff is very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The store is dog friendly and welcoming of all 4 legged fur babies. I dropped my pup off for the first time, to get groomed. Unfortunately, the original groomer we met was unable to groom him due to unforseen circumstances, so a new groomer was called in. I got nervous, felt unsettled, that I never told the groomer how I wanted my pup to be groomed. But I left him there despite my feelings to get groomed. The grooming took longer than expected, which was okay with me. When I finally got there to pick up my pup, I did not like the cut but still found something positive to say because I took responsibility for not explaining to the groomer what I wanted. Im sure they saw it on my face. What took me back is when the groomer told me she had to muzzle my poodle. My heart sank so deep just thinking about him being muzzle for hours while being groomed, an experience that has always been a joy for him with his original groomer. I hope he was not traumatized by that experience. She said he was afraid of the loud noise while in the bath and therefore did not want to risk it. This evasive move on a puppy is ABUSE! I spent $105 for my pup to muzzle for hours by a groomer who did not take the time to see that the loud noise of the dryer was scaring him and try to make it okay. I'm sure he was scared because it was his first time there. I apologized to my pup 100xs on the way home and promised him he will never see them again. My heart was broken. Driving 45 minutes to his original groomer now seems like nothing to me. Pup parents if you can't see what's going on behind closed doors I would not trust it. Too many animals get abuse in silence and develop behaviors in response to that abuse. No cameras... no glass windows......
Read moreI have taken my 2 dogs to Woof Gang twice now and I cannot say enough great things about the beautiful store setup, the friendliness and professionalism of Sherry, Lana, Ashli, and Danielle. The manager, Sherry is warm and took the time to fully explain the services, products, and just about anything I wanted to know. She is such a great person and provided all the information I needed to schedule my dogs’ appointments. She clearly explained I needed shot records, how long it would take for my dogs to be groomed and all the different options to choose from to meet my and my dogs’ needs. I had questions about the products they sell and what would work for my dogs and she was patient, knowledgeable, and caring. I bought a bag of food to try and she also was kind to give me samples of other products based on the info I shared and my dogs’ dietary needs.
Now about their wonderful groomers: Lana, Danielle and Ashli. I have a mini labradoodle and a mini bernadoodle and I’ve tried a few other groomers who have done a very good job, but these ladies are the BEST. My dogs look beautiful! I can tell these sweet ladies genuinely love what they do and are incredibly polite. Every time I’ve picked up my dogs they genuinely want to make sure I am happy with their service, giving me verbal notes about what they did and asking if they met my expectations. I honestly cannot say enough good things about Woof Gang. Their prices are reasonable and well worth it and like I said, most exceptional customer service all around. Thank you so much for making my pups look and feel great and for your kindness and professionalism! My search for the best pet grooming team...
