My experience at this ice cream parlor was, in a word, intriguing. I must commend them on their innovative approach. In a market saturated with countless ice cream shops, they've carved out a niche by expertly blending fresh fruit directly into their ice cream. This degree of meticulous integration is something I haven't encountered elsewhere, and I genuinely appreciate their commitment to crafting a unique product. The artistry involved in achieving such a smooth and consistent fusion of flavors is evident, and it speaks to a high level of skill and attention to detail.
However, while I applaud their originality and technique, the final product didn't quite align with my personal preferences. I found the overall sweetness to be a bit overwhelming. While I certainly enjoy a touch of sweetness in my desserts, this particular ice cream leaned a little too heavily on the sugary side for my taste. A more balanced profile, perhaps with a touch more tartness or acidity to cut through the sweetness, would have been more to my liking.
Furthermore, the price point seemed rather steep. While I understand that high-quality ingredients and specialized techniques often command a premium, the cost felt disproportionate to the overall value.
In summary, this ice cream parlor offers a truly unique and professionally executed product. Their innovative blending technique sets them apart, and I admire their dedication to quality. However, the excessive sweetness and the high price point detracted somewhat from my overall enjoyment. With a few adjustments to the sweetness level and a more generous hand with the fruit, this ice cream could easily become a...
Read moreA couple nights ago, we stopped at Sweet As as it was our last night on Oahu and fell in love with your ice cream a couple nights before we just had to get it before we left. We showed up a good half hour before closing and stood in line for about 25 minutes before the young gentleman turned us away as the store was closing soon. It was not even 8pm yet and we had waited that long in line to be turned away. This was disappointing to say the least. Granted he was the only employee working, but its not right to turn those away that had stood in line. My suggestion to others, dont come remotely close to closing time as you may miss your opportunity to get ice cream there let alone anywhere else in the area if stuck...
Read moreOne man, 2 scoops. One waffle cone at a time, slaying through a line of hungry, sun‑kissed souls like it was nothing. The line looked intimidating, but blink twice and suddenly I was holding the best ice cream + waffle cone combo of my life. Hunter deserves a medal, a vacation, and maybe a statue in front of Sweet As. He kept the vibe light, the line moving, and every customer walking away smiling (and let’s be real, probably drooling a little). The ice cream? Creamy perfection. The waffle cone? Crispy, golden aloha in edible form. Together? A love story Shakespeare could never write. Mahalo, Sweet As, you’ve officially ruined all other ice cream for me. I’ll be back,...
