On 7/05/2024 at around 4:30pm. My husband and I were shopping at the Oakbrook Macys locate in the Oakbrook Mall. We were excited to shop and look for baby shower dress shirt for him. We find a pink Michael Kors suit shirt discounted in the Menâs Last Act section. We were thrilled to find a shirt and it was marked down. We proceeded to the Women dresses on the 2nd level of the department store. We unfortunately didnât find anything for myself. We were done shopping so we decided to check-out at the womenâs dresses and encountered an employee name Casandra. I asked her the price before just to ensure how much I was paying because we did double check before on an in store price check scanner. Before she could do that for us she was rude to us and told us âbefore I can check the price, you need to swipe your Macyâs cardâ I thought that was strange but had no problem. Once I swiped my Macys card she took the shirt and moved to the side. She didnât explain what she was doing to the shirt and was looking at price adjustments. She told us the price she scanned isnât the correct price and I canât give you the discount. My husband and I were shocked she went out of her way to not give us the price of the shirt it was originally ticketed as. Iâm 36 weeks pregnant and her attitude and coldness to go out of her way to not tell us whatâs going made me very upset. She made us feel like were stealing and we felt discriminated us because she didnât explain to what was going on and why she wasnât giving us the shirt it was marked as. Casandra didnât explain herself to us at all. She assumed weâre stealing because we purchased a Menâs shirt at the womenâs check out counter. I asked to speak to a manger and it took a manager over 10 minutes to get us to explain what was going on. A manager never showed up and Eventually Casandra the cashier was told by other employees that the shirt is marked as itâs supposed to it should not be an issue to give them that price. Casandra was rude and rolled her eyes at us and gave us the price it was originally tagged in the store. This made my husband and I upset and stressed to be in a situation like this without any explanation from Casandra. Iâm very pregnant so it just added more stress and I was disappointed of this situation because we Macyâs store to look for an outfit for upcoming baby shower. Only to be accused of stealing and being discriminated towards. It left an awful experience. Casandra never apologized either for putting us in...
Read moreNever again. I wish I could give no stars or negative stars. I purchased an overcoat for over a formal dress for a wedding I had coming up. Before getting rung up, I verified what the return policy was in case the weather held out and the overcoat was not needed. The employee explained I had 60 days as long as the jacket was unworn with all tags. Fast forward, weather was perfect and I didnât need the jacket. When I went to return this jacket, the BCBG woman (#71779289) legit glared at me and threw the change she was counting...it was 6:20pm and she was counting out her drawer when the store closed at 7 on a weekend???? Thatâs right, she legit threw the change she was counting and rolled her eyes at me, like I was inconveniencing her in doing her job. Although her attitude was vividly immature and unnecessary, I brushed it off so I could do this quick swap back. For those of you who donât know, when you shop at Macyâs they attach a sticker to the price tag, that can be scanned and can act as a backup receipt. This woman scanned it and said that âthe item didnât existâ. She then proceeded to shove the jacket back at me and scream how she wouldnât take it back. Mind you, this jacket had been hanging in a closet with the original bag over since I brought it home...it was in perfect shape, no tags were tarnished or anything. I questioned her, as I could clearly see the same jacket for sale behind her. She proceeded to be aggressive and throw attitude at me. Not sure if this is Macyâs standard or just BCBG but I know this is not how customers are supposed to be treated. I donât know if this woman chose to treat me terrible because I looked different than her or what but she made me feel bad and almost violated for even being a customer. I went to another location the next day and they processed my return with no questions asked. This woman clearly has something against me. If you donât want or like your job, just remember someone else is always willing to take it out from underneath you. Act like an adult and treat others the way you want to be treated....and maybe follow your jobâs goddamn policy. Absolutely disgusting. I will never be back. Hopefully I can defer any of you from this...
Read moreI love this Macyâs for their huge selection but the customer service is the worst! This is my second time treated poorly and disrespected.
The first time was when I was looking for a watch for myself. There were two families ahead of my fiancĂŠ and I, so we waited. By the time it was our turn, she ignored us. Theyâre were people passing through and stopped to hover and she literally HELPED them instead. I was still trying to get her attention and we even made eye contact and she never came to ask if we needed anything or EVEN assist us. Clearly, she thought we didnât have any money to spend bc we looked so young. The sales associate was on the older side but I never felt so disrespected like this in one of my favorite stores.
The second instance was today while we were shopping for my birthday gifts. It was my first time having to return a handbag and normally I go to the one in downtown. They have a designated area for returns. I didnât know if it was the same at this location. So, my fiancĂŠ and I first headed to the handbag section to see if I can return it there. Nobody was there. It was an empty section. There was no one to be found. So we walked over to the next section right next to the handbag section which be the menâs section. It was the first register we spotted and there was an African American man there. I walked over to see if he would know where I should go to return the hand bag. I was lied up, said âExcuse me?â And IMMEDIATELY, he SAID NO. He didnât even give me a chance to speak and ask my question. This was the worst customer service and employee I EVER encountered here. If they hate their job so much, they should find another. The first and foremost thing that happens in retail is to put the customer first by providing phenomenal service so they can keep coming back and the fact that, they always say, âthe customers always right.â I was extremely shocked this had happened to me and on my birthday. I just hope it doesnât happen to...
