I work at a nonprofit and we rented this space for a youth who is HOUSELESS, and this direct location treated me as if I was below them. I will never have the company I work for pay for anymore families who need help to be sent here. I wanted to pay off a balance and was told I could not pay off, and would not be able to. This specific location was no helpful and brushed me off as if, I did not matter. We rent out this spaces for our youth who are HOUSELESS. Due to the work that we do, I was unable to go to the location and make sure the person was moved out. I was finally able to go to the location and wanted to make sure it. Thank you to CORPORATE for taking the time to speak with me and try to locate the number for collections so I could pay off. Just imagine if I did not have the means and resources to know that what the site told me was incorrect. The manager REYNA should have said, hey call corporate, not hey, we will and do not have it. Our organization will be using another storage place for the families we work with. The lack of respect and just human kindness awful. Oh yea, and she hung up in my face and I was not even yelling. I requested to talk to a manager, and he stated she was, and I told her you can't do that to people. If you do not know, say it. We do not know everything. I would have appreciated her saying, I do not know but let me look into. CORPORATE gave me the number. Sure, you might not have the number, but tell people to call corporate and maybe they can assist further. Easy! This is my first public review, of Extra Space Storage, at 1090 29th, In Oakland Ca.
So,
In May 2022, I had a heart attack and multiple strokes, and was stuck at my premises for 2 days, until being discovered by my coworkers, and extricated by the fire department.
After about 4 months, I had a second Open Heart Surgery, to replace the first Aortic Valve, due to Endocarditis.
After about 5 months, I was discharged, and 2.5 million dollars later, and 20 + 1 brushes with death, here I am.
So the purpose of this review, is to thank the store Manager, Reyna, for assisting me during this very difficult time, since I was stuck in various hospitals, it was impossible for me to make payments on a regular basis, because all of my credit cards were cut off, and I didnāt have access to my wallet.
Reyna could have easily auctioned off my. Belongings, but she instead chose to work with me, a help up, instead of a hand out, if you will, and so, in conclusion, Iāll say this, despite the difficulties weāre all having these days, thereās still plenty of decent people around.
