I have had nothing but probelms with this college since first enrolling. The financial aid office is useless. Not only did they spell my last name incorrectly, delaying my financial aid; they couldnt seem to get any of my information right even after driving up there on several occasions. Finally after fililng a formal complaint they slowly started correcting the wrong information. (which took them 5 months!) After completing my first semester there they had my grades posted wrong... an F was posted for a class I clearly recieved an A in (which was posted on Angel). This also delayed my financial aid for the spring and took them 2 months to fix. Then to top it off they claimed I owed some $10 fee which they couldnt explain where it came from... put my account on hold and sent it to collections. I paid the pety $10 plus all the extra fees they tapped onto it. Also took an online class in which they switched teachers 3 weeks thru... didnt inform anybody about it and both teachers were horrible... refused to respond to emails and when you asked for help they referred you to a tutor. I will be transferring to...
Read moreI’ve been attending CF for almost a year. Throughout this time, I’ve made every effort to be respectful and reasonable, but my experience has been very disappointing. The level of service and support is poor many staff members seem unwilling to assist and often pass you off to someone else. When you finally reach the right department or person, you’re often met with frustration or disrespect for simply seeking help.
Additionally, I’ve encountered issues with grading that appear to be based on personal opinions rather than clear academic standards, and there seems to be an overall lack of genuine care for students' education and well-being. Unfortunately, it feels as though many employees are simply there for a paycheck, not to support students.
That said, there have been exceptions — my advisor, Bruno, has been incredibly supportive and one of the few people who genuinely cares and strives to help. I sincerely appreciate his dedication. Sadly, my experience with most others has left me very...
Read morePeople like to complain that advisors don't do enough to guide them and complain over small events that happen to them. My reply would be, this isn't high school. This is college. We are adults here, expected to be able to know how to handle our lives. You can easily get online and view what classes are required to transfer elsewhere and can easily adjust your classes online. Academic advisors oversee so many students and have a hard time handling the workload, which is why you too should be maintaining your responsibilities as a student. As for every other small complaint, you'll run into those at every school. Financial aid depts are always busy and take time to get in contact with. I have adored CF and my experience here and have had nothing but amazing professors. I went to Santa Fe first and the classes are much more impersonal and they don't care usually for your life circumstances. I'd recommend CF to anyone who asks, just talk with others around campus for pointers before slamming the whole school...
