Texas Roadhouse — Restaurant in Ocala

Last year my family ate at this location which started off bad (beginning with the hostess) progressively got worse and ended up horrible. We all (but my youngest son) ended up walking away from this establishment hungry. I went home and posted a fairly detailed and honest review swearing never to return. To my surprise I received a message from the Restaurant manager who automatically started rectifying and reassuring me that she was not going to lose my family or any family as guests and she was determined to right the wrongs. I thanked her and didn't expect anything more than her apology and her word that she was going to make it right. I am not sure if I am correct but her name was Allyson. I was getting ready to start dinner a week later and my phone rang.The voice on the other end said CHECK YOUR EMAIL ....you are coming for dinner ( we received a gift certificate)and I will personally take care of you along with my best server. One of the issues in my review had to do with our service and worse yet that evening we were informed by the server this Ocala location would no longer be serving those famous rolls with that delicious butter. I have to say this time we had the best time. Great food. Lots of rolls and butter but best of all.... We had a manager who actually cared enough to care!!!!!!!! The following day I took downy negative review. tonight for my birthday I told my son's I want TLH....... FINGERS CROSSED. Update to follow .....

So,I realize the suspense is killing you.not really but here it is. How did my birthday dinner go with my awesome sons and to my surprise my best friend Angie came along. This was her first time at Texas Road House and sadly could be her last. Diagnosed recently stage 4 brain and lung cancer.😥We were seated within minutes of arriving. Our server Daniel greeted us right away with suggestive selling and offered snake bites for an appetizer. A few min later he was back with our drinks and appetizer. 7 little snake bites that were mainly over cooked and empty.A Manager came by our table with no enthusiasm informing us that rolls would be coming out soon. And she walked away. We waited 45 min for the rolls that were cold and heavy with uncooked dough.We had to ask for them multiple times. I told myself that it is going to get better......next the expo came with 2 of our 3 dinner salads. 2 ranch and 1 Italian dressing.. The expo handed out the 2 ranch salads and acted confused on salad 3. She fumbled with the ticket disagreeing with my friend about forgetting her salad. We told her it was an oversight and we didn't have a problem waiting for the missing salad. She kept flipping the ticket saying no. Finally daniel came back with the salad and all was well. Or wait... Was it? Oh yes,when our dinner finally arrived I was served a plate that was covered in grease and dried steak juice. Obviously no one noticed even after being handled by the line cook,from there the window expo,on to the food runner and into the servers hands as he set it down in front of me. My ribeye was well done My ribs were like drywall. I love your ribs 😫 My friends cheese burger was x-well and no cheese. All steaks were ordered medium. All 3 steaks were over cooked. My son ordered onion and mushrooms that never arrived. Daniel and an expo delivered our food and all 4 dishes should have never left the kitchen. Cold, burnt,missing items, sweet potato was ordered loaded came to our table plain....Daniel did remove my plate and returned with a clean platter with much better ribs but the ribeye was undercooked. And I have to ask..... when did we become so sensitive and closed minded as a country to not allow the HAPPY BIRTHDAY song to be sung anymore ........it's now "let's all say yee haw" cute but not traditional . Told my friend about the line dance the servers do ... It didn't happen. I ended my night a year older with a heavy heart caring a to go box for our puppy who btw loved my ribeye. Who's name just happens...

First Impressions | Texas Roadhouse - Ocala, FL

Let's start this off by saying a few things.

Download their app. You can reserve your wait in line for a table ahead of time. It also automatically gives you a free appetizer so you can enjoy it when you visit.

My husband had been to them in NJ. I had never been but figured it was like every other roadhouse around. Well, I WAS WRONG.

We reserved out time ahead and although there was a good amount of people waiting, we only waited about 8 mins upon arrival vs the average 20 min wait time.

Every single staff member was VERY nice going in. We got there just in time to see their hourly line dance, and if y'all know me then ya know I love putting my boots to work in a good line dance lol

The atmosphere is high energy and a bit loud with country music playing but I didn't complain. In fact, they have a jukebox and I requested a King George (Strait) song to really make my night 😉

Anyhow, we got seated and our server was Trenton. THE BEST SERVER I HAVE EVER MET. Aside from being extremely friendly, knowledgeable about the food in the menu, and prompt he was HILARIOUS. I mean, I suggested he start a career in comedy because the whole night was non stop laughter till my cheeks hurt and honestly, I think I burned off all those sweet rolls from the calories I expended laughing lol

Warning: THEIR SWEET YEAST ROLLS AND CINNAMON BUTTER ARE AMAZING. YOU WILL BE ADDICTED.

After scarfing down a few rolls we cashed in our free appetizer gift for their cactus blossom (onion petals). It comes with their cajun sauce and it arrived hot, fresh, and perfectly fried!

I also ordered a Kenny's Cooler. It's a Kenny Chesney inspired drink using his new rum. SO GOOD. I felt.like I was on a beach while sipping it. I mean, I ordered two if that's an indication of how yummy it was.

Ok, ok now here's what we got for dinner. It's not pictured but I have a reason why. The food looked and smelled so good we drove in and i remembered pictures halfway through gobbling it up 🤣

My husband ordered the porterhouse steak with loaded steak fries. It was juicy, tender and flavorful!

I ordered the 10oz ribeye. Smothered with onions and mushrooms with steak fries. One of the best rib ribeyes I have eaten in a while!

We had a GREAT time. Amazing staff, food, and drinks plus fun atmosphere! We got another line dance from the wait staff halfway through our meal and there's 3 different ones they do if you're there long enough lol

HORRIBLE MANAGMENT TAMARA ..........We had Several Problems with our meal and Service from Manager Tamara, she was rude and unapologetic, and spoke to 2 other families walking out to the car at the same time that had the same incident. First Off, I want to say our Sever was 100% Amazing! However, our food was not! I ordered a 12 oz Ft Worth Ribeye which I don't believe was a Ribeye had no marble and So THIN & Cold and the little piece of fat it did was not even attached and was way over cooked, ordered it smothered and asked that the onions & Mushrooms be well done and it was not done, they were mushy and could not be eaten, Fries Loaded were so cold & old the grease from the Fryer was under them on the plate and When I Expressed my concern to Tamara about my Type of Steak and the Condition of she acted like it was no big deal said " It has fat on it it's a ribeye!" and you asked for well-done I said no mam not the steak it was ordered medium and onions and mushrooms well done, and my guest's meal was the Salmon, which was dry as the Sahara Desert, and was not being eaten. she walked away like I was a bother to her, and the waitress came back and said she would have them remake the Salmon, however approx. 20 minutes later by the time everyone else was done eating we still have yet to get the Salmon and it finally came in a Togo Box in which Tamara literally dropped on the table and said "Anything else?" at this point it was better for me to shut up than to make a scene in the Restaurant. So Politely asked her if she could remove the Salmon from the bill because of the issues of it being cold and we came to eat and enjoy ourselves together however we didn't get to do that and if we wanted carry out that is how we would of ordered, she refused to let my guest keep his remade meal and took it back, mumbled something under her breath but it was so loud I couldn't make it out, and stormed away while bumping into 2 other guests and not even excusing herself from them and then finally she removed it from my check after another 15 minutes of us asking our server about it, It was a Horrible EXPERIANCE AT THIS LOCATION, We Ordered an Entire Meal From Appetizer to our meals and planned on dessert but after this chaos and rude management and unable to even eat our meals...
