Fantastic! We are so LUCKY to have such an amazing theater in our town. They take the experience of live theater above and beyond. Everything here seams to be top of the line, great quality, and super accommodating. I saw Pump Boys and The Dinnetes and it was a-maz-ing. The small cast played all their own instruments and everyone was phenomenal. This is the Ocala Civic Theaters 70th year and the lobby has a beautiful installation commemorating the rich history of the Marion County Players and the theater itself. I never knew so many well known industry professionals have graced our presence! As for social distancing and maintaining safe practices, they appear to be going above and beyond here, as well. Masks are required and social distancing is enforced through staggered seating. They moved concessions outside and everyone working is wearing masks and gloves. They do this super cute thing with the seats where they put donors faces on cardboard people to aid in spacing in the theater. Every other row is blocked off entirely and they are running at about 25% capacity. They are doing an amazing job keeping everyone involved safe and healthy. I am grateful my family has such a special and artistically enriching place we can still go to.

Impressive and Captivating! - The Ocala Civic Theatre’s production of Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella enchants with its mix of timeless fairy tale magic and fresh, witty humor. La'Nya Solomon shines as Ella, bringing warmth and strength to the role, while Hunter Freilich’s Prince Topher delivers a charming performance full of sincerity and lighthearted moments. The production dazzles with vibrant costumes, stunning set designs, and well-executed choreography, making every scene visually captivating. A standout is Ashlyn Gibbs as the Fairy Godmother, whose powerful vocals in "Impossible" leave the audience spellbound. Her presence adds heart and wisdom to the character, elevating the magic of the story. The witty dialogue and comedic timing, especially from the stepsisters and other supporting cast members, add a fun, lively energy throughout. With its balance of humor, romance, and stunning visuals, this rendition of Cinderella offers a refreshing and delightful take on a classic tale.

I have been attending performances at Ocala Civic Theatre since I was a kid. Under the direction of Greg Thompson, the theatre is doing more community outreach than ever. The shows just keep getting better and better! The sets, the upgrades, the costumes, the actors…. Bravo! Standing ovation! The whole staff and all the volunteers are stellar. You will be shocked to see what a largely volunteer nonprofit organization can accomplish. It’s amazing to see the evolution of this beloved Ocalian institution!!! For 75 years, OCT has been providing entertainment to our community! They need funding now more than ever, so please consider becoming a member, making a donation or seeing a show!!

Purchased tickets for candlelight concert ( Coldplay/imagine dragons). I’ve attended this theatre previously and knew about the slight smaller size in comparison to a previous candlelight event I’ve attended in Tampa so I purchased section A two tickets for 109$. Arrived early and was taken to my seats by an Usher. Prior to actually having 6-7 other guests stand up to allow us to make our way to our seats I asked would our seats still be available cause we we wanted to purchase drinks before the start of the show. Just before the Usher actually brought us to our seat we just had our tickets scanned and was called out by the usher.. 2 for section A and took us straight away. It was all rushed! I asked if we were okay to go and order drinks without loosing our seats( which also happened to be the only 2 available left in section A . The only other available seats were literally in the last three rows of the entire theater, and there were plenty of open seats back there. My husband even wanted to doublecheck before we walked off to grab drinks since we were literally practically pulled out of the drink line to even get those seats reassuring that they would be held and saved for us since the usher for section 8, took us to the only two seats they had left and we were confirmed that. Yes we could go grab our drinks and come back to our seat And voilà. We could not. Another Usher with an attitude said it was first come first serve but would even directly speak to me. Only the Usher That who brought us to our seat that told myself, and then again confirmed to my husband and insured us that we could go grab our drinks and come back, which left her extremely awkward and uncomfortable telling us that we could sit anywhere else we could find a seat which was literally the last three rows now at this point. this event was extremely unorganized, I could be wrong, but I felt like there were only three ushers and there were three sections so I don’t understand unless they are selling more tickets for section 8 at the high dollar value and sending people to the back row that paid top dollar to sit in a section that for us would have saved us $40 but we wanted the front row experience which we had and lost in an instant. Maybe if this theater was my first experience, I wouldn’t be so bothered however in Tampa not only did you get what you pay for but you were given an actual seat number and nothing was oversold. You didn’t get up to use the bathroom and come back and find a whole other couple sitting in your chair.. it’s not about the money. It’s about the principal, this place won’t get another visit out of me that’s for sure, for the $40 I was tricked out of. I just took the drive to a better theater. That’s better organize and I’d be at home sharing with my friends and family experience I had rather than wasting my time with this Google review, is anyone reading this wanting to enjoy the show the musicians are fantastic, but don’t waste your money for any upgrades, go ahead and buy the tickets for the C-section show up early and get seated in the A section because that’s really...
