Michaels — Attraction in Oceanside

Very poor customer service. I believe it all stems from management which is obviously poor. It's unfortunate, because Michael's is a beautiful store with so many great buys and great merchandise. But since the customer service is so bad, I just cannot shop there unless I am desperate for a particular item... which is rare.

I have tried several times to obtain information regarding a craft class that was being offered. After waiting on hold for several minutes, I spoke to a gal who seemed very unsure of her knowledge on the classes. She said that she didn't think they had an instructor for the class but wasn't sure. I told her the class is listed on the calendar and was she sure about that. She couldn't give me a straight answer and said there wasn't anyone there who knew. The online registration allowed me to sign up so I thought this sounded odd. It also stated items I would need for the class. However, the gal stated it was an "informational class only". We wouldn't be making anything. So, I figured I'd call back another day... today. So I called to get this much needed information, as I was already signed up along with my children. I was on hold for at least 10 min.... just waiting. Finally, I hung up. I guess I was meant to take the jewelry 101 class...

I was so excited to learn that Michaels was stepping up to lessen the void left when Joanns closed. The fabric section is pitiful; selection and quality are not worth going there if you are looking for fabric. Perhaps if the fabric is for a crafting project it would be okay but certainly not for clothing or quilting. Clothing and quilts need to be made with at least decent quality fabric that can stand the test of time due to constant use and washing.

Three self serve registers were available for check out, not one register was available with an employee to provide customer service. I am not an employee, please treat me like a customer! Let me know that you are happy that I chose to go to YOUR store rather than to your competitor for the items I purchased. Looks like I will now be going only to that competitor since they have basically all of the same items, and actually more, as well as nice fabric ... and ... they always show an appreciation that I choose to shop there.

Please step up your game, Michaels. Your store is much closer and I would very much like to continue...

I happen to be picking up a friend yesterday right off the freeway when I saw the Michael signs and well as you know I am a crafter. So, there it was at 8:54 at night me trying to rush over all of the speed bumps in their parking lot and then find the building. I mean let's be serious here the shopping center is large and they show the Michael sign right when you get off the freeway but in fact it's not until you get about three blocks down over a bazillion speed bumps that you hit Michaels craft store. 31 when I finally got to the store there were 3 minutes left and the store employee at the front let me know that right away I told her no worry I was just there for the grab bag boxes she nodded yes and security nodded yes and I Jam to the back corner and shook a couple boxes grab my top favorite three and was checking out probably at 9:00 so I have to say a good experience only in the fact that they were not counting the minutes or were they and that I got what I wanted really fast I would recommend this store being so large and so...
