Order online then come on in. It’s the only way to beat the very unpredictable rushes they have. Sundays at 6? Like really with a line out the door and people eating in the parking lot packed.
What I love about Habit is their consistency. Consistent by location, consistent by item, you name it. They are clean, happy (maybe not In N Out happy), fast, quality food. You can’t even call them a burger joint because their chicken is legit. FIRE people, fire grilled is the way to go, nothing wrong with the old flat top/plancha, but something about a sear, something about grill marks and the interaction of fire and beef is what dreams are made of.
Décor is standard basic. The OC brand has done much better for itself in the post burger boom of 2011 than places like Counter? Yeah you might remember them, might. Service is good, but the whole ordering system is a little gimmicky as the cashier has to step away to let his kitchen staff of the # of meats down. Ordering is not fast either, and it has nothing to do with options. The management staff is all over the place, really touching every step of the process. Prices are standard across the board, but it’s a slightly more filling burger than most, somewhere between a double whopper and a super star sizewise.
Double char has ample cheese, but ditch those sweet saueteed onions and maybe the pickles, not my style. Fresh fried onion rings and fries have the perfect saltiness, crunch could last a little longer so much like it’s main competitor In N Out there is also a vast difference in eat in vs. take home fries, no matter how close you live. I love getting Santa Barbara style with sourdough and avo. Teriyaki is ok and the mushroom is really sweated out, thought it’s less impressive than the thick flavorful bacon BBQ, never over sauced. Club is pretty standard and the pastrami doesn’t touch The Hat when dealing with fast food pastrami. Tri-Tip is very filling, but ditch the lettuce and it’s more of a pulled meat esque. Their fried chicken spicy sandwich is limited time, but I hope it stays, it’s crunchy, juicy, flavorful and filling. Imo a delicious addition to the menu.
Tempura green beans are a very unique item at fast food because they keep the crunch. Onion rings are very battered and super crunchy and sweet. Half half fries are a nice touch. Sweet potato fries are also a nice step in the right direction.
Shakes are thick, rich, comforting with or without the whipped cream, but you have to ask for the 16oz Large, not on the menu. I feel like with their old school-ish feel they should have peanut butter milkshakes way before mocha and coffee. Get outta here with that starbucks direction. Malts are the lesser known milkshake, but they need to offer a banana sundae.
Habit is a great place to come for quality, consistent food and the main reason I’ve severely cut back on my In N Out intake. I may not agree with everything they push, but I also don’t’ like ordering a 4X4...
Read moreI placed my first online delivery order on the Habit Burger Grill Website on October 9, 2020 at 5 p. m. I downloaded the FREE app on my Apple iPhone XR my cell phone.
My order was one Char burger with American cheese that included (lettuce, pickles, onions, tomatoes, and mayonnaise) on a toasted sesame bun. This burger was very juicy and delicious all the veggies, the char burger and American cheese blended well together. I also ordered one serving of regular French Fries, a refreshing Coke soft drink, and a Strawberry Milkshake with whipped cream. The French Fries were crispy and lightly seasoned. The Strawberry Milkshake with whipped cream topping has real strawberries infused in this milkshake. The Strawberry Milkshake flavor wasn’t too sweet and it was very delicious. My online delivery service order total price was $24.00.
I received my delivery order by Habana the delivery driver. Habana was very personable and friendly. I was also sent text message alerts that told me the time my food order is going to be delivered to my home yesterday. That’s a great idea. I was very happy with the delicious burger, French Fries, Coke, and the Strawberry Milkshake with whipped cream. I will definitely order from the Habit Burger Grill Restaurant online delivery...
Read moreI live in Florida where they don't have Habit Burger Grill restaurants and I'm visiting family in Cali. My brother lives out here and he told me Habit Grill is a good place to grab a burger. So I went there tonight and tried to order a Charburger combo meal with a side of sweet potato fries for my Mom. The young lady taking my order didn't understand I was ordering the combo with a side and I wound up paying for three separate items (burger, drink and sweet potato fries) instead. (I got the impression she was a new employee?) The total price sounded correct so I didn't notice the miscommunication. Yes, I got a receipt but I didn't check it at that time (my bad). Since I took it to-go, I didn't discover the mistake until I got home so I was a little annoyed. I wasn't charged for something I didn't get, I just didn't get what I thought I'd ordered, if that makes any sense. Either way, the burger was very good and the sweet potato fries were tasty, even though I would never normally order them for myself. The "Boom" sauce they offer was just the right amount of spicy to go with the fries. I will definitely go back again but I will DEFINITELY make sure I get what I...
