Went to this location in Oceanside tonight to return a backpack I had bought at the Encinitas location the other day. I had used my 20% off coupon that Tilly's emailed me which is supposed to be valid through May 2nd, 2021, and since I was returning the backpack I wanted to use my coupon on a new pair of sandals after I returned the backpack. I was told by the manager Jack (very rudely) I could no longer use my coupon unless it was an even exchange with the same type of backpack, and I could not apply my 20% coupon to the sandals I was wanting to purchase. I asked Jack if there was anyone he could talk to higher up in management than himself to see if an exception could be made since my original transaction was now voided out and returned; hence I now should have a good 20% coupon to use on another purchase. Jack said "NO" but I could call customer service and talk to them. I proceeded to ask Jack if he could call them for me, and he sternly and rudely said NO so I asked him to give me the number to customer service so I could make the call myself. I completed my return without the new pair of sandals. I went to my car and called customer service to which I was helped by 3 separate people the first woman was very helpful, but hung up without sending me a new 20% off coupon or getting my name and number to follow up with me. The second guy who I did not catch his name was extremely UNHELPFUL and told me I could not be issued another coupon since I used my coupon on an item that was returned. I asked this customer service guy to speak to a manager and he HUNG UP THE PHONE on me. The 3rd person I talked to when I called the customer service department was named Jason and he was very helpful, courteous, and transferred me to a manager named Tanya. She had Jason call the Oceanside Tilly's store to have them honor my 20% discount on the sandals I was wanting to purchase which I appreciated very much, but this all took a lot of unnecessary time out of my night that I did not appreciate for being a long time customer of Tilly's. In addition, when I went back into the store to purchase my sandals the manager who was a woman was unfriendly and standoffish during the transaction. I love Tilly's, and shop here often for myself, my son, and my boyfriend, but after tonight I will be taking my business elsewhere due to the rudeness I received both in store and via the customer service line that I had called this evening. Read moreI went into the store at1 7:35 PM on 8/28/2019 tonight for my daughter to do shopping. We were greeted with laughter and eye watching by three young ladies. They were talking secretly into their Walky talky speaker on them. We were shocked as to what was funny as we were not inappropriately dressed or acting out of the normal. We simply walked into the store. As we looked at two items the laughter continued and I could see the girl in the back of the store speaking in her walky talky. My daughter said she felt uncomfortable and we left the store. I refuse to spend my hard earned money in a place and be treated this way. In addition the young lady in the front of the store was wearing a sports bra which was not properly fitted and inappropriate for the environment.
