Del Taco — Restaurant in Oceanside

Aug 5, 2022 I have always loved Del Taco. I moved to the East Coast and miss it so much. I would never eat at Taco Bell which is what we have in PA. Del Taco just tastes fresher and their beans are A-1.

That said, I was very disappointed in this Del Taco after arriving in So Cal for the weekend. I could hardly wait to have a green burrito and fries. I looked forward to it all day.

If you read my other reviews, you'll notice I mention cleanliness a LOT. Well I was floored by how dirty it was inside and outside this restaurant. Food all over the floor, dirty napkins, etc. The tables were filthy. Behind the counter I noticed an entire crew of young men, most likely high schoolers. The one who took my order was friendly enough. Gloves worn by all but no hair nets I'm sight; the young man who made my burrito had longer curly hair and did not wear a hair net. He squirted sour cream on the burrito and threw the bottle in the corner when it was empty. There was a bucket with what looked like a plastic bag in it and a dirty spoon just sitting on the counter. I saw people coming through the drive thru waiting unacceptable amounts of time, 10-15 mins.

The food was so-so. The burrito was okay but I had to fight to keep it together at the bottom, and the fries were cold.

One of the first times I've been that disappointed in Del Taco. I understand it's difficult to hire right now, but the owner needs to do some housekeeping and lay down some ground rules here. This place...

The worst customer service inconsiderate not timely at all and disrespectful playing vulgar music as loud as possible and walking around the store not caring and having plain clothing persons walk in and out of back. I also saw 2 employees sitting on boxes behind the wall hiding. There were 3 girls working 1 guy on the evening of September 10th 9:00pm. Hopefully so you know who was working and can take action in resolving this so that it never happens again. I also have pictures and I’m going to work on taking video to post as well. However i arrived and ordered at 9:04pm roughly and it is now 9:56 pm I ordered 2 small shakes, a tostada no lettuce and light sauce, and a hamburger patty with cheese on it only. Not a hard order honestly I could have went to target drove home made it cleaned up and came back to del taco and it still not be ready at this rate. So hopefully this is resolved because this post along with other posts it will be uploaded to all review sites and known not to come to this location or any of this is how corporate runs del taco. The manager just came back and after 10 min of being back asks if we have even gotten our food. Another employee went on his 30 min break and just returned...

I was going here routinely each night after work and until now I've never had an issue. Given what happened today and the poor customer service I received this was my last visit.

So I ordered 2 burritos and clearly articulated EXACTLY which kind I wanted which is virtually impossible to screw up since it literally has a corresponding menu item number. After ordering the associate stated the total and I knew it was way off, so when I approached the window I let him know he made a mistake and specifically asked him to change it. So what does he do? Not a damn thing and hands me the wrong stuff after payment has already been processed.

Then, I pull up to the drive thru window again to inform his co-worker who I'm assuming is a supervisor based on his attire, and this guy winds up charging me another 9 bucks to get what I initially asked for and offers a modest discount to "resolve" THEIR MISTAKE. So I got stuck paying nearly double what the food ACTUALLY WOULD'VE COSTED ME. Garbage service and that's a terrible decision coming from anyone in a position with any degree of...
