I’ve been looking forward to this lounge for almost 2 years and I finally made it to OKC. I made sure to fly in to OKC instead of Dallas just for the lounge.
First thing I noticed was the paper attached to the door saying they strictly enforce the dress code which is advertised as “Casual but Classy” but upon entering I noticed T-shirts, ripped jeans, and flip flops if I had to guess.
I made my way to the humidor which was well stocked with all of the big guys but nothing interesting new to try. I grabbed a Padron 26, Liga Privada T52, La Aroma De Cuba Pasión, plus a Drew Estate Java for my father. While my back was turned to the woman working in the humidor I was looking and asking what her favorite stick of Rocky’s she’s been smoking while thinking about one more. She responds while asking if I’d like a stick cut which I told her yes the Padron and she asked if a V cut would be okay. I told her it’s fine and without asking she lights my cigar. I was wanting to smoke a stick with my father, uncle, and brother after dinner and had not told her to light anything.
Not only did she light it without asking it was a poor job. Only about a third of the stick got lit before she told me to take a few puffs and I put it to my mouth as she lit the torch again feeling the heat on my forehead. I ask her for the lighter to toast it properly and ask her as politely as I can what she does while not stuck in the humidor when she tells me she’s a hostess.
The only thing worse than not asking permission to light a cigar is doing so poorly.
I was don’t understand how you can work in a place such as this without knowing proper etiquette in this industry. I walked out without tipping her which I felt really bad about and decided to grab a drink and text my family about my now lit cigar and seeing if they could all change plans to come there instead. After 5-10 minutes of no waitress for a drink I just decided to leave when I was met near the top of the stairs by staff and asked “you good?”
Yeah I’m good.
A huge disappointment in a town with better places to grab a stick not to mention Dallas!
Just sad.
Management needs to hire people with knowledge of cigars and have the ability to recommend some as well as the proper way to cut, and toast somebody’s cigar once they get permission.
It’s just a shame I was really looking forward to a great time with my family there that ended not happening at all. I spent over $50 just on those sticks while waiting for 3 other family members to show up and do the same not to mention drinks and a maybe something to eat but instead with such a bad experience I left early to meet them at my father’s place to come up...
Read moreSo I came here for my birthday a few years ago. It was a fantastic experience. They had an incredible DJ and wonderful wait staff. But last night (05/19/2023), I had a completely different experience. My group and I arrived at 11:30 a.m. The hostess greeted us and drove us to a corner spot. As we sat, a server named Janae approached us; she was very courteous and professional. In the middle of taking our orders, a gentleman called Curtis interrupted her and inquired if we had a larger party. We informed him that more people were on their way, and he informed us that this was their largest part, and he questioned the veracity of the number of people we had coming. He then walked away, leaving Janae to finish receiving orders. This bar was full for my birthday a few years ago at 11:30, and it had a vibrant grown and seductive vibe. This night was slow, but there was plenty of seating. Curtis' energy was not very inviting or professional in my perspective. Janae, our waiter, took extra time with us to help us out. She was really professional and continued to converse with us all night. Curtis returned about an hour later and told us that we had to go since there was an eight-person party arriving and he required the area. Our buddies had not yet arrived at that point, so we relocated to the rocking chair chairs behind our initial area. After about 30 minutes, our companion arrived, and there were just two people seated in our previous place. We made room for our pals with the space we had available because the area was empty. We opted to leave after approximately 30 minutes because our initial section had only two individuals seated at it, and no one came to them to tell them they had to go. After an hour, there were no more people seated in that sector. In fact, there were fewer individuals sitting there. My buddies and I were dissatisfied with how we were handled or the mood they were attempting to create. We did, however, buy cigars, and Shay was fantastic. Very educated about the various flavors and nuances of the cigars, and provided some excellent recommendations. After that, we quickly left. I'll rate this establishment 2.5 out of 5 stars. Janae and Shay were instrumental in making the difference. Curtis, on the other hand, left a sour taste in my mouth. I would absolutely recommend and return if they could play better music and get back to the grown and seductive vibe instead of the old and prudent one that was on...
Read moreA unique take on a cigar lounge for the modern era. Most lounges are quiet and laid back offering peace and solidarity. This place offered up both the aforementioned and a more upbeat social gathering atmosphere.
Be prepared to dress to impress. Not really a shorts and t shirt kinda place as most patrons had on some sort of nice polo or business attire. Possibly just the particular night but judging by some of the scotches and bourbon offered this isn’t a college bar.
The drinks are fairly affordable and with a very large selection to suit any to most pallets. The selection of cigars offer a wide spread and the humidor tenant was very helpful for first timers and even seasoned consumers. The house brand of cigars were very well priced and offered up some unique flavors. Looking forward to trying more in the future.
Our server Amanda was top notch. We were on the upper floor which offered a private feel but the live music that ranged from blues to contemporary set a very joyous vibe. Amanda is a champ for walking so many flights of stairs throughout the night. And carrying drinks no less. Her other coworkers were also very polite and courteous.
Only complaint is the time it took to cash out. A large party had showed up late and because of their size the staff was overwhelmed. A 40 min wait time to get us cashed out was a bit excessive.
Will definitely be...
