Tried Firebirds last night on a whim as Uncle Julio's was jam packed and couldn't get us in. We had a group of 7 and on a positive note, we were seated quickly in the bar area. It was around 5:30 on a super busy Saturday night so that was definitely a bonus. I loved the looks of the bar and the restaurant itself looks very appealing.
Things went downhill fairly quickly from there. While it was nice to be seated quickly during a busy time, the table and stools were horrible as far as size and comfort. No room for anything, uncomfortable backless stools that all wobbled. Every single one of them. Of course with a full restaurant, it's gonna be loud, but this was absurdly loud. Literally couldn't have a discussion at all, in spite of being crammed and basically sitting in each other's laps.
All that pales in comparison to the level of service. Quite simply it was the worst service I've had in at least 10 years, quite possibly ever. Mind you, I AM taking into consideration that it was busy. I AM giving the benefit of the doubt that MAYBE a few people didn't show up for their shifts. I am not sure what the issue but from start to finish, our main server was awful. Long periods of time between visits, no refills on beverages, and heaven forbid you ask for a straw for the kids, or really ask for anything, because you probably wouldn't receive it, and if you did get it, it was so long between visits it wasn't worth it. Add on the fact that their prices are legitimately ridiculous and it made for a downer of an evening. Now I know costs have risen and everything has gone up but $18 for a salad that legit was a some greens and dressing is simply too much. Period. It's too much. $16 for a chicken sandwich and a tiny serving of fries? Yeah yeah inflation. B.s. still over priced. And I have no idea what one of our party paid for their ribeye steak. And then he tells me it was barely average. Maybe ask if we want bread before our 45min-hour wait on our server, not 2 minutes before the food comes.
There were a few bright spots. My hot honey chicken sandwich was quite good. The fries were quite good. (They were not worth $16 mind you). One of our party said the salmon was good (but the broccoli was cold). My brother said his burger was tasty (but again said he'd just as soon have an onion burger in El Reno for 1/3-1/2 the price. One bright spot were the runners trying their best to help our clueless server. They were all over the place trying to get orders out. Hint...maybe have THEM serve the entire restaurant.
I've love eating out, and love trying new places. I almost always give the benefit of the doubt to restaurants, but this was a hard miss for me. All of us were in agreement, this was our first, and last night at Firebirds. Would I give them a shot at lunch at 2:00 on a weekday, maybe. But it would have to be for a reason. Highly disappointed in the whole, neverending experience.

Read moreI moved from Missouri a few months ago and this was the first restaurant I tried. My first experience was awesome! I believe I came on a Monday night after a long work meeting, it was fairly close to closing time but the bartender working was outstanding. She mentioned daily wine specials and really made it an enjoyable time. I told her I would be back.
I came back tonight for my birthday hoping to have the same experience. I typically sit at the bar anywhere I go because that’s usually where the best service is and my first visit at the bar was nothing short of special. However, the staff behind the bar tonight (3/29/25) was way off. From the not so welcoming greet to one of the two bartenders never even saying hello and being snappy all night to others, I did not have a good time. The young lady who DID help me, I believe her name was Kyla (I may be wrong), she was trying her absolute best with what she was given. The other bartender, whose name I don’t know but she had short hair, was rude to her and the servers the entire time I was there. I believe she created an unneeded stress on her bartending partner and I truly felt bad for the other girl.
I was given a few good drink and food recommendations but I feel like I was just another customer to them. The first time I was here awhile back, the girl asked if I had been in before or if I were celebrating anything, to which I assumed they’d ask me again tonight but it seemed like they wanted to get me in and out. It certainly wasn’t very busy at the time I was in so they had more room at the bar to have more customers sit and drink/eat, so why was I rushed?
Again, the lady who helped me very well could be a great bartender when not under stress but the short haired bartender was more like a bar Nazi to her partner and servers waiting for drinks. Overall, the food was great but the experience ruined it for me. I will come back if I come in and see the first bartender who helped me in December but I will not be a staying customer if I see the others. Management needs to offer retraining or hospitality classes to some of...
Read moreFood was so below average. NOT worth prices paid. We took our mom here for her birthday expecting really good food great atmosphere, great service; our server was a very nice kid and he seemed to really try (he was newer), but there was no atmosphere, and the food was awful! Right off the bat, when our server brought our waters, one of the glasses slid off the tray onto the table and spilled into my brother‘s lap, ice cold water. (OK, this can happen to anyone, no major big deal.) It was an accident, the condensation had caused it to slide and at least he wasn’t absolutely soaked, and we did laugh about it, but the food was still horrible. After we ordered it took another 40 minutes for our food to come to the table. It was all cold, every bit of it. I ordered the Chilean Seabass, and it was so undercooked, it was gelatinous and cold. This came with a cold grain salad (this was SUPPOSED to be a cold salad) with seasonal vegetables. Since there were a bunch of halved, partially cooked and uncooked tomatoes, I am assuming that was this seasonal vegetable, except that one of them was so rotten it should’ve been tossed out, they cooked it anyway, and put it in my dish! I just pushed them aside and left them. Our mother ordered Filet mignon and they brought her a THIN, stringy steak with a baked potato, both of which had been sitting and were now cold. One of my brothers ordered the chicken sandwich and the server highly recommended ‘their tots’ over the fries. Having the server highly recommend their tots we assumed they were made in house. When the plate was brought, they were very obvious the frozen Ore Ida brand. My other brother ordered the steak tacos. These were also cold. The coleslaw was flavorless and bland. We were supposed to have some bread brought to the table which we never saw either. While waiting for our food, I looked into the kitchen (which you can see from the dining area), and no one was there cooking and the two guys that would appear once in a while were NOT in a hurry for anything in there. Needless to say, we will not be eating...
