I just came from the Overland Park Store today Aug. 5th with a warranty issue after having my entire LCD screen, digitizer and glass replaced as I damaged my phone back on June 20th and paying $318.00, a premium to fix it. As soon as I picked up my repaired phone back in June, I immediately went and had an Otter Box case put on it for additional protection. There is now a small hairline fracture in my glass 46 days later. There is no other damage AT ALL to my phone anywhere on it. I have not dropped it or done anything that would cause damage to that. Pretty plain to see that as there is not a shred of damage AT ALL ANYWHERE on the phone, outside of the hairline crack. Understanding this...I took my phone in to have it looked at and fixed under the six month warranty. After spending more than an hour and being tossed around to three different associates who could not make a clear decision, as they also did not really understand how this happened and told me that, a call was placed outside my presence in the back of the store to the owner to decide what to do. He basically told them to tell me "to go to hell" my words not his...They were not going to stand by their warranty and fix my phone as he decided blindly over the phone that it was caused by me without having even looked at it. None of the associates who actually looked at my phone came to that conclusion as I mentioned. I firmly believe that is totally inaccurate. I did not do any damage to my phone. They did offer to fix it again for well over $100.00 which I obviously had no interest in as they did not stand behind the work or original warranty. The preach "happiness" throughout their store and in all their signage but from a customer perspective nothing could be farther from the truth. They do not care one iota about the customer once they have your money and you are out the door. The "warranty" they offer in not worth the paper it is printed on. Under no circumstances would I ever recommend using them for anything. What they do stand behind is all the small print legal jargon printed on your receipt claiming "physical damage" that I caused. NOT TRUE!!! There is not a single shred of evidence to indicate I damaged my phone, anywhere on it. ZERO...Once you are out the door, they are done with you. They have no interest in providing a "happy" customer no matter what they say or spend on signage to indicate that. Actions speak louder than words and based on the actions they took in my case, they simply do not care at all about the customer especially if you go back in with a LEGITMATE WARRANTY ISSUE that they cannot bill you handsomely for. I am a small business owner myself and if I treated my customers that way I would be out of business. Hopefully they will be soon, so they cannot take advantage of other honest people as they have me. THEY ONLY TERM THAT COMES TO MIND IN REFERENCE TO...
Read moreI usually never post on yelp, as it always seemed to be a very passive-aggressive way at getting back at some company that supposedly wronged you. I don't let things bother me this much, but this time is the one exception.
I was spending time with someone when their dog bit my phone screen and cracked it causing damage to the screen which later progressed to problems with my phone bringing up apps and other things at random.
I didn't think much of it as I had previously used a similar company to fix my phone screen before with relatively quick service. Again, this was not the case here.
I waited nearly 3 weeks for my phone repairs to get done (apparently there was another problem with some internal component of my phone so that set me back yet another week), only to find out that all my data had been wiped (Thanks Joshua!) The associate at first, claimed that he didn't know how this happened and suggested that the glitch previously mentioned was the culprit. This would have possibly been the case if I didn't lock my phone screen previously -- and even if it had gone into the reboot screen, where by chance glitched out and selected "Wipe Data" and then input the correct numbers in to do just that. Seems very unlikely. When I asked Josh about that again, he did say that he had to mess with the motherboard on my phone and suggested that that was why he had to wipe the data off my phone. I would have been significantly less upset if the associate had been honest from the very beginning.
Along with the problem of possibly losing all my contacts of friends I've made in the past several years and pictures of my family that I may never get back, additional problems were found with my phone as well -- albeit very minor in comparison. There was a problem with my phone not getting out of the reboot menu, a problem with my volume either turning all the way off and only being able to turn my volume up and an additional problem where if I touched the bottom of my screen the phone would register a touch in the center of the phone. So, I turned my phone in with 2 problems and ultimately walked out with 4 problems!
This is by far the worst phone repair company I have ever been to. If you're still reading this; you have plenty of options to choose from in the area and this one should NOT be your first, second, or third. I would give this place 0 stars if that was possible. Between the lying employees and horrible service, this company should not exist the way it is. The one thing this place did correctly was give me a refund, which seems to be recurring. I would be embarrassed to own this location or even be a part of...
Read moreUPDATE: I got a hold of the manager, Jamie. He is the new manager for the store. He and Allen were very helpful and replaced my back glass. I think this location has a shot as surviving now! Thanks guys!
The only reason I'm writing this review is because the store does not answer their phone. Ever. I have called several times in the last 2 weeks and no answer. Maybe have more than one person working at a time. I took my phone in for water damage repair in April. They fixed it but broke my back glass. Mind you, I did NOT ask them to take the phone apart because the glass will always break. They cracked it doing whatever they did. I say it's fine as long as they fix it. He has to order the part in. They never called me back. 2 months ago I dropped my phone and took it in for repair and mentioned that they never called me to notify me that my back glass was in. They order it again. This time they take the back glass off completely so my phone is completely exposed if it's not in a case. I go in a week or so later (we were moving) and they can't find the part. The guy there had no idea where anything was. He said he would have management call me. That was a month ago. No call. We moved an hour away otherwise I would be up there hounding them. The work they do is decent but this is seriously the worst customer service I have EVER dealt with. Hopefully mgmt sees this and contacts me because they don't pick up their damn phone! I want my back glass...
