Saw the Christmas Carol last night- we try to go every year … the Aesthetics, 5 star, the play, cast, sets, etc all 5 stars as always… the staff allowing obnoxious patrons that disrupted the entire play- 0 stars! I thought toddlers weren’t allowed at this play which is why we left our 3 year old at home but the people sitting behind us at the opposite end had two toddlers with them who were too young to be there… the younger of the two coughed OBNOXIOUSLY for the entire first half not covering his mouth… literally not 15 seconds passed the entire first half without a 10-20 second open mouth hacking… it was so distracting!! Clearly this kid was sick! The second half apparently he can control the coughing or they gave him meds not sure… but he loudly talked the entire time and his mother loudly kept telling him to stop talking! I don’t understand why nobody from the staff asked them to leave—- he was too young to be there, sick and everyone around us was extremely annoyed… the people sitting directly in front of them didn’t even come back after the second half… Im not comfortable confronting people especially during a play who allow their kids to be that disruptive but I feel a staff member should have done it. Super disappointed… it pretty much ruined the...
Read moreI took my child here for their summer camp program and I am highly disappointed in the entire experience. My daughter (who is only 8) and her class were told by the teacher that the kids are free to express themselves and if they want to be a boy, they can be a boy. If they want to be a girl, they can be a girl. If they want to change their names to match their new genders, they will call them by their new names. When my daughter questioned this (because who wouldn’t question this..? especially a pure little mind who doesn’t understand this yet) she was yelled at my the same teacher. I confronted the teacher and she was very rude and didn’t take any responsibility for her words. I informed the program director and she only apologized. I paid $200 for a week of theater camp and my daughter only went for three days due to this “teacher” and her treatment towards my child. I do not recommend this program AT ALL. Not unless you are you with your children being coerced into being the...
Read moreWONDERFUL and OUTSTANDING!!!! Being new to Omaha last nights Of Mice and Men was my first Omaha Community Playhouse performance and I was astounded. Other patrons struck conversations with me making me fell welcome. This is obviously a tight community that operates as a family and I was brought into the fold my first time. Of Mice and Men has been one of my favorite novels since childhood. This performance had me engaged from beginning to end. In my novice opinion Candy's portrayal was astounding and maybe cinematic quality. Certainly as good as Walstons portrayal. I've always been in love with Malchovic's portrayal of Lenny. Last nights portrayal was amazing and caused me to rethink my interpretation. The laughing Lenny caught me off guard, but it worked and I liked it. Altogether a wonderful welcoming and thought provoking experience. Hopefully I can get my schedule settled down b.c. and begin volunteering in the near future. What a wonderful...
