Disappointed… didn’t have a thing to complain about my last three visits real cool dudes there really, just this last time it’s like they didn’t care about me or was sick of seeing me using my warranty or something. The situation starts when i was listening to my music and my amp got hot and fuse popped.. called the sales team just to ask for a replacement fuse nothing too serious. I was told in order to do that they were going to have to look at everything to see why the fuse popped and to bring my car in at 9am that thursday. Had no problem with that when they usually tell me to do that it’s never a hassle I bring my car, I walk around town go to stores, go eat, etc. like I have always done when i’ve brought my car up, also what my wife has done when she has brought up the car.. this time around it’s both me and my wife and our 3 y/o daughter and dropped the car off at 9a and walk off.. 1hr .. 2hr.. 3hr.. go by and my wife goes inside to ask about an eta what was told to her was “oh we didn’t know you guys were here still, we don’t have any mechanics available we will get your car in as soon as possible.” 4hr..5hr..6hr.. we finally decide to go and wait in their lounge cause we don’t know maybe they forgot about us again.. then of course they apologized for the wait and said we were going to be next. 7hr.. 8hr.. 9.. my wife takes our daughter to the bathroom and when she comes out they just handed her the keys and told her “here you go, it’s done” and she walks back into the lounge and grabs me and we walk out they all greeted us telling us thanks and bye.. but they never even told us the problem.. because the only problem was the fuse popping. they made us wait 9 hrs just replace the fuse and put red “do not open” seal tape on my dials in order for me to not tune my amp to my liking which I found to be absolutely outrageous, petty, and childish. they never came up to me told me i had tuned anything too high on my amp.. nothing they just turned eveything all the way down to nothingggg and taped over it acted like i was kid. they sold me an 800w kicker amp for my 2 scar 12s and are mad that stock isn’t enough boom.. im sorry but you’re not going to sale a product to me and monitor how i use it. I had intentions on upgrading my infotainment system and amp with them, but how my family and i were treated this last time i’m starting to have second thoughts. We were there 5 minutes before they open to only a hr and some change until they closed for a fuse. just a wild experience. not to mention we both had to miss work cause this...
Read moreFirst time I visited the elkhorn location. I wanted a backup camera on a jeep. they were very unhelpful when purchasing my equipment. The technician that installed everything was good at his job and did it correctly. However, the guy up front lied to my face about the camera he put on my jeep. As I had brought him a camera to install and he called me mid installation and gave me some BS story about why it wouldn't work, and insisted I purchase their top of the line camera that was over $200 but they would give me a really good deal and sell it to me for $100. He refused to give me the model of the camera and said I needed to make the decision right away. Well I decided to go with it as I had no other options. After the install, as I said it all worked, but the camera was poor quality, and I finally got the model of the camera on my receipt, looked it up, and it was a $20 camera from Walmart. The gentleman lied right to my face. I went back, pointed the out, and the decided to refund $50. Still out $30 and I have a crappy camera. I decided since they were willing to work with me though I would give them a second chance. I wanted a backup camera installed on my Camry. So I visit the dodge location near UNO. The person I spoke with (I think it was Chris) was insistent that, again, I purchase their equipment. The brand was NavTv. The kit they wanted to sell me was over $300. I asked some basic questions about the camera such as resolution, field of view, if it has grid lines, etc. they had no idea and said they would contact their distributor and get back to me the next day. A week later I hadn't received a call and so I did my own research and found that it was a kit made of a cheap Chinese no brand camera. It was garbage. But again I called back and asked if we had other options. They had no technical knowledge and referred me back to the original guy I spoke with, whom never returned my call after several weeks and several messages left. I called inPhase audio and the guy instantly knew what I was talking about, was technically sound, and contacted their distributor to ask a question when he didn't know the answer, called me back within 15minutes, and had me all the parts I needed from beat sonic that were much higher quality and 1/3 of the price ($100 versus $300). STAY AWAY FROM...
Read moreI had them install a pioneer "avh w4500" stereo in my Cadillac CTS. They sold me on buying all parts from them so that they could warrantee the work.
That made sense but it came with a 20% or more markup on everything (example, stereo was $699 on Amazon but $899 through Stereo West) and so forrth for all other cables, dash kit and such.
Here is where the issue comes. They installed the stereo but the USB for Android auto didn't work. They didn't even test it. They sent me home and i found out it was installed into the apple car play...so back I went to the store (trip 2).
Once they took my car apart and changed the cabling I got my car back again. The problem was it still didn't work and kept crashing the stereo computer. They blamed it on a bad usb-c cable but they didn't have any cables in house to test their theory. I went home have tried 3 cables and 3 different phones with no luck. And even worse they was a static white noise over the speakers at low volume. Called and scheduled another time to come back (trip 3).
I then called confirming my appointment and they said it was a miscommunication and the new stereo had not been ordered. They also offered to have me come in AGAIN to fix the white noise but I had to wait over a week for other installs.
So to clarify where I am at now. I paid around $1400 in total to have them install parts that I could have bought for hundreds of dollars less. I then pay them to do a install in which they have messed up 3 times and now offered to let me come back again in a week when they can fit me in.
I would expect this from a guy off Craigslist or a small shop ran out of a guys garage. But I paid for a premium service from a brand I thought had good quality like Stereo West.
Not the case, I wish I could have had my money back and chose Inphase Audio. I would have still spent premium money but actually had it done right or at least not had to wait weeks and multiple trips for them to half heartedly try and fix the issues.
So as it sits now I go back in again next Tuesday (8 more day wait) so they can attempt to fix the issues again. Not one time have they offered to correct the issue other than "put me back on the list". As great as that is they're trying, it's not worth a $1400 sticker price...
